He obviously had something to do with it so he got what he deserved. But he hired a stupid lawyer. How is your defense going to put you at the scene in the closing arguments when they had no proof the whole trial he was there?!

I thought they had evidence that placed him at the scene? Found his DNA on a joint at scene or something.

He will be serving time roughly 1 mile away from Gillette Stadium. I read a tweet today that said he will be able to hear the crowd cheering during games.

That's just perfect. Not often does this sort of poetic justice occur.

DNA on a joint would be the weakest DNA evidence ever to put someone at the scene of some place.

They had that plus his footprint at the scene and video evidence of him picking up the victim in his car just before the shooting. As I understood it, his attorneys figured there was no way to convince the jury that he wasn't there, so they chose to admit he was there but was not involved in the crime itself.

Yeah, the timeline and texts from Lloyd right before the report of gunshots makes it almost impossible to say that Aaron was elsewhere.

They really had no defense.

Yep. I had forgotten about the texts...that just added more evidence to placing him there.

He obviously set It up. In a murder trial thats just as good as pulling the trigger. He still would have gotten guilty of 1st degree murder.

Prosecutors had no murder weapon, no cooperative witness, and no way to 100 percent put Aaron Hernandez at the scene of Odin Lloyd’s death. So why on earth did Aaron Hernandez’s defense team do it for them?

Relieved jurors in the Bristol County trial of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez said Wednesday they were surprised by the defense’s acknowledgment during closing arguments that he was present at the murder.

“We were all shocked by that,” said one juror, while others nodded and expressed agreement at a group news conference after voting to convict him on a charge of first-degree murder Wednesday morning.

I thought they had evidence that placed him at the scene? Found his DNA on a joint at scene or something.
