With Dallas presumably going to bring in another Qb.. What's everybody's opinion on Aaron Murray? I personally was hoping Dallas would take a chance on him. I believe he still has upside and wouldn't immediately challenge Dak for snaps. He's better than Showers and could be an insurance policy for Romos successor. He got caught in a numbers crunch in KC. He'd be relatively cheap too.

Side note: I think Dallas should kick the tires on Bjeorn Werner too.. Former first rounder that Marenilli could work his magic. Not to mention he's German and would give fellow teammate Nzeocha someone to relate too

In other threads about QB's, I mentioned Murray, Austin Davis and Bryce Petty as guys I would be interested in. Not sure why it hasn't worked out in KC for Murray, would think he would be a great fit in Reid's offense but hasn't clicked.

After we didn't make a run at Freeney I suggested Woerner too, would be worth a look. I will say from what I have ready he hasn't really done much in Jax, although he did get a sack against a 3rd our 4th string TE that pretty much just whiffed.

He has zero NFL experience. I don't know if that's what you want backing up Dak. I really think the team is going to look for a seasoned vet with NFL starting experience.

He's 6'1" 207 lbs. He has no NFL experience and that means that he would likely be getting hit while learning. I don't know why we would consider this kid over Showers who, at least is familiar with our Offense, is bigger at 6'2" 230 lbs and he can contribute on special teams.

I agree to a certain extent but he has a much more significant college resume.

He played for Georgia at a time when Todd Gurley was running wild. I don't know that Murray's resume translate into much more significant. Besides, it would be hard enough for this kid to come in and play as it is. It would be next to impossible for him to learn our Offense to boot. JMO

He would be learning the offense while Dak is starting. Murray is an example of a guy they really liked coming out and like his tape from preseason. And he still has 2 years of working in the nfl with Reid on his resume.

Yeah, you don't need that if you are the backup QB. You need to be ready to step in and play at any moment. I think it would be a huge mistake, assuming you want to have any chance to win, to bring in a guy who has to learn the Offense and has never had a start, as your backup.

All three are interesting options, but we need someone whose skill-set is most similar to Dak's with a basic understanding of our O...

That way we can focus our gameplans along constant lines for essentially everyone across the board.

Like him coming out of Georgia, would be nice to bring him in since Chiefs got their future through draft.

Am I interested in Murray? Yes. If Andy Reid isnt, I wonder why.

I'm only interested in guys who've at least started a handful of games at some point right now. If Dak can't cut it, fine, we'll spend big resources to find an option who can. Right now we need a veteran who can give us something Dak and Jameil cannot if we're going to take the trouble to bring him up to speed with the offense.

He has 5 qbs. A 5th round pick (Kevin Hogan) is going to be his developmental guy. Then he has Alex Smith the starter, Tyler Bray who got a new contract last year and appears to be a solid backup type, and Nick Foles who he drafted with the eagles in the 2nd round who might take over for Smith at some point.

I really like aaron murray and I think he can eventually start in the NFL (based on his skills) but he'd be coming in to a new offense with zero exp. Dallas needs a vet QB. Murray is a guy you'd like to have as a developmental project.

Dak doesn't have any either, and he's about to be the opening day starter. I'm just saying....
