Hey jets how much do you want to offer me, is it about 60 million, you know I'm doing what Favre did. Must be a GB QB thing, leave GB and go to NYJ

I'm surprised the 49ers aren't interested
It's not easy to plop a $60M slot into your salary cap. The 49ers are currently structured to win with a cheap QB (originally Lance, now maybe Purdy if he can get healthy).

Clearly Rodgers makes them a dominant super bowl contender, but only if they didn't have to get rid of several players to account for his massive cap hit.

Most of the cap hit is covered by GB. Looks like a straight up trade before June 1st with no reworking the deal will be a 16m$ cap hit this year for the new team and 18m$ next year.

The issue is if he retires after 2024 then 2025 will have a decent pile of dead money, but no one trading for him now is worried about 3 years from now.

So is this why the jets never bothered to consider Carr?
Was just thinking the same. They were hot for Carr and then he didn’t even bother to get NO and NYJ into a bidding war… maybe because NYJ got the Rodgers confirmation and bailed

“New Orleans was the best fit!” That was an odd statement that is maybe clearer now
