I think he’s a bit selfish with the yearly decision to play or not. But I feel he’s earned it too. He slays the media constantly and they resent it. It reflects in how they portray him, and then I think fans who watch ESPN and fox and others just parrot what the media says. As you stated, no one really knows him. People just seem to comment on him using the same words you hear in the media.
I get that his using the media as a boa constrictor on the Front Office comes off as selfish and can be a distraction...but I dont know if you can just label him as difficult from being smart about his money or trying to get what he wants. I know that there has been talk about him blaming everyone but himself in post game interviews...as to suggest he will throw teammates/coaches under the bus...so I dont know...maybe he is difficult as a professional.

It is only one situation....but I do like how he and Brady get along and play golf. You would think two Alphas like that who have competed their whole careers, one being the GOAT and the other being considered hard to get along with....that they would not mesh well in the same room. But those guys are buddy buddy on the course.

My uneducated opinion...Rogers probably isnt perfect as a person or professional associate....but the bad optics surrounding him are probably to do with being annoyed with NFL economics and all the moving parts with NFL teams and how they manage. I think he probably just gets tired with it all to the point he doesnt care about looking like a donkey butt. If he has to deal with Team Management headaches...his stance is going to be he just wants his money and all of it or hes going to throw a minor hissy fit.

The Jets are cursed and the AFC is too tough. He should stay in GB, take a pay cut, and let them use the saving to sign some weapons for him. Thats what he would do if he was truly interested in winning. He's made 315M in GB over the last 4 years alone plus 30M in endorsements. Not sure why he is still chasing money.

All you stated is fair. I don’t really see much to criticize him for. I do think he should take less time to decide if he’s playing as a courtesy to his teammates and front office who have to develop their strategy on free agency and the draft.

Other than that, I feel like the rest of the criticism he gets is a media thing.

They dont like players having power so they bash him as being difficult when hes actually being smart and doing what most employers would do to get their way.

Exactly. The powerful always resent if those they seek to control use the same techniques against them.

Rodgers is toast. He's an aging, declining player whose best days are in the rear view mirror. The Jets are a questionable franchise. It's silly to think Rodgers would come in and lead them to glory.

Zach Wilson, on the other hand, is a promising young talent. Taken 2nd overall for good reason. Is it shocking that he didn't come in and transform the team? The worst teams have the highest picks, and the Jets picked high because they are awful. We've seen many good young QB's suffer because they were drafted high by bad teams, and had unreasonable expections placed on them.

Building a team for the future, I'm taking Wilson over Rodgers every time. It would be interesting to see what he could do with a good team and good coaching.

I've no love for Rodgers or the Jets. I'll enjoy seeing them go down together.

My main issue with your argument is that the QB position is mental. My unexpert opinion is Rogers still has one of the best minds in football as far as understanding the game and ability to process it quickly. Those are maybe the to most important attributes a QB in the NFL can have.

Add to that...he still has a cannon for an arm and still isnt too slow on his feet.

My opinion on Rogers is that if you can plug him on a decent team...or a team with a good O-Line and average receivers...that teams offense will thrive. If he could find a team like Brady did with Tampa that just needed a QB and had pieces in place on offense and defense...Rogers could probably win you a Super Bowl.

Im surprised San Fran isnt in the cards. Wasnt San Fran rumored to be after him a couple of years ago? Granted...I know absolutely nothing about which teams are able to absorb his contract. Maybe the Jets talk is scaring teams Rogers is really interested in going to into making a move(San Fran? Las Vegas?). Its right up Aaron's alley to use the media to apply pressure.

can't even make it out of our division
Agree. We’ve already several season of a weak NFC East and still gone 2-4 in the playoffs.

if Lamar Jackson goes to the Skins, be ready for more of the same……or worse

Rodgers possibly to one of the original AFL franchises - first known as the 'Titans of New York'.
If that happens....Dallas still will have to face him yet again.
Cowboys host the Jets as one of their eight home games @ AT&T Stadium this upcoming season (date & time TBD).

I personally like happy endings, my wish would be to see Rodgers go to the Jets and light it up. If ever a franchise needed it is the Jets. Their SB window is now, nice defense, some nice pieces on offense, need to add to their OL a little but would be great to see them rock and roll for a change. Hey, you can always hope!
