About Anthony Spencer... IMO!

I think the guy is playing well defensively, doing alot of different things, but no sacks to show for it. Remember the Cowboys traded with the Eagles to get him with the 26th pick in 2007. I hope he gets to McNabb a few times and continues his solid play on the edge!

Yeah, you can look at the lack of sacks as a negative, but they'll come eventually. He's playing well in coverage and against the run which is 2/3 of his job. He probably would've had a sack on the play that Ware got his. He was getting nice pressure.

Spencer has been oh so close on many plays EVERY game. Sooner or later he will get a sack. I predict it happens on Sunday night which would make it right on time. The defense is improving by the week. If they show up big time against Philly, we win convincingly because they can't stop our offense. But they have to do it on the field.

He is beginning to quell any fears I may have had at the start of the season concerning him being in the starting role. I hope he keeps it up. He is playing a very solid game right now.

He is playing well in many aspects of his game. Hopefully, the sacks will come.

Spencer seems to have the most "almost-sacks" of any player on the team. I dont know what the official stats say but he seems to be doing a good job of pressuring the QB. All he's missing is the ultimate prize, which is the sack.

On a different note - where was D-Ware? Did Seattle doubleteam him or something?

The one negative, which can be held against Anthony Spencer this entire season, was the missed interception which passed right through his hands for a Moreno touchdown during the Denver game. Otherwise, he has been a more than adequate replacement for Greg Ellis. Sacks are great, but in a 3-4 defense, an outside linebacker has a lot more to do than just rush the quarterback. He has done very well in the other phases of his game.

Well... at least Spencer is on the field compared to Ellis who might be done for the rest of the year.

I know it sounds odd, but if he has a game like this past week every week, I wouldn't care if he never has a sack.

While he hasn't gotten any sacks, he has gotten a boat load of pressures.
Pressures cause turnovers, so they are valuable also. I realise a sack can also place an offense in a position to turn the ball over. I prefer a sack over a pressure but I'm not denigrating any of it.

Anthony Spencer would make a great SS lol

but seriously, we should roll out a package of 3 LBs on passing downs: Ware, Spencer and Butler

Its unbelievable he hasn't gotten a sack.

He is playing at such a high level and keeps getting sooooo close to getting that sack.

He is still a guy with upside and is getting better and better week to week.

If Spencer, Jenkins, and Scandrick keep getting better than our defense will be realy good at the end of the year.

I think Spencer is playing great.

I have no problems with his play and he has gotten noticibly better since the first couple of weeks. His motor is much better. His pass rush has improved even though the stats don't bear it out.

His run D is great and his pass d is suprising very good!

He is a fine player imo..

He's getting hurries and he's great against the run. I'm looking forward to him crushing McNabb during a scramble.
