Holy crap! !! There was a kid here from FSU a few years back that could really jump too! Hope this turns out better than that.

Pat Watkins. He had no football awareness. It'd take several seconds after the pass was thrown for him to realize it had been thrown.

He just makes so much sense as a FS. I want him out there ballhawking. With the pressure Hardy, Gregory and Lawrence can apply and Jones out there playing centerfield, we could get a lot of turnovers.

I think Claiborne is the key. If he can tap into some of his potential and be a decent CB, then I'd roll with Scandrick, Claiborne and Carr as the CBs and put Jones out there as a FS.

Agreed 100%, the question is can Claiborne ever even be a decent CB in our nickel formation...

And Byron can actually jump higher (off the ground) than Dez.
I wonder if you add in the log arms and extra height, if Dez could beat him in a jump ball.

With Claiborne having the Patella tendon surgery, I would not expect much from him at least for the first half of the season - if at all. Pure speculation on my part, but I would expect Jones to train and play corner this year, with the thought to move him to FS maybe next year. Once the Corner position shakes out.
Claiborne is the key, but only in the respect of - do we get anything out of him ? And if he does look like he can make a full recovery, can we re-sign him at a reduced rate which would allow us to move Jones to FS. Or, are we going into next year still looking at corner back and safety.
Lots of moving parts still .....

Looking forward to Byron covering Dez now and in the future. Hopefully neither of them get hurt high pointing the ball and get their legs crossed up.
