1st Rd. (16) - Arron Donald DT University of Pittsburgh - Just fits. I'd like to take him later in the draft but he'll be there and he is a definite need. You don't see quickness like this at DT every day. Plays with fire and has a great attitude for the game.

2nd Rd. (48) - Dakota Dozier OG Furman - He is ranked as a 3rd-4th now but I believe he will move up after the combine. He played LT at Furman but I believe his position will be LG in the NFL. Excellent foot work, very agile, plays with a mean streak. He's going to rise up the boards IMO.

3rd Rd. (78) - Telvin Smith LB/S Florida State University - He's going to test very well at the combine. His issue will be size, he's only 218 lbs. but if he can get to 225, he can be a LB in the NFL. He would be perfect for a Cover2 LB. If not, then he's one hell of a Safety prospect.

4th Rd. (115) - Aaron Murray QB University of Georgia - Nothing I don't like about this kid. Tough, smart, good arm, good mobility, nice size. Perfect developmental QB for us.

5th Rd. (146) - Trey Millard FB Oklahoma University - This player would probably be higher on the board had he not been injured. Tough, smart, powerful blocker with nice agility. Can catch the ball and can get you tough yards. He's what we've been looking for at FB for a very long time.

7th Rd. (206) Aaron Lynch DE University of South Florida - Started his career at Nortre Dame, ended it at USF. Made 1st Team Freshman All American, 5.5 sacks, 7 TFL, 33 Tackles, 14 Hurries, 1FF and 2 PDefs. He was 6-4 255 lbs then. Ended it at USF with 5 sacks, 11.5 TFL, 29 Tackles, 4 Hurries, 1 PDefs. He is now 6-5 244 lbs. I don't know what happened between then and now but he has the physical ability to be a big time player in the NFL. Worth the look.

7th Rd. (208) Tyler Starr LB South Dakota - Big kid with lots of production, 27 sacks, 13 FF but it's said that he runs a 6.29 3cone drill. He's doesn't have great 40 speed but fantastic short area speed. Physical and plays with nasty. Has red flags but is worth the risk here. Could also be a DE in a 43. He may go higher after the combine but he may not.

7th Rd. (215) Terrance West RB Towson State - Small School RB with nice size and good vision and quickness. Ran for over 4800 yards and 86 TDs in three seasons. 6.1 career YPC. Worth the look.

I really like your draft but I would love to get a DE a little earlier. I like Lynch, and I think he'll end up going somewhere in the 5th, but I would have loved to get him and another guy earlier. That is just nitpicking though, very very good mock.

With the depth at guard this year I just can't see Dozier going in the 2nd. Like him a lot but the 3rd round would be a lot better value for me.

And a FB coming off of an acl in the 5th?
I'd Iike to take a flier on Millard, just not in the 5th.

I like it ABQ....

I get the "Hey lets grab a DE earlier" talk but I also get the "Take the highest rated guy that makes sense" argument. And if a DE isn't there, then they aren't there.

I also think if the Cowboys can come away with a DE and DT through FA, then the pressure will be somewhat lessened to have to take a DE real early... Especially if Ware is retained.

I cant stand Murray. He just seems to make a mistake at the worst possible time in games. I don't want any part of Lynch.....he has a horrible attitude and work ethic.

As for the rest of you draft, I am cool with Donald, though Hageman is my guy. I love me some Dakota Dozier. Smith seems like he could play a similar role to DWoody, at least on paper. I feel Millard can be had later, but he would be a solid pick. The last two are decent late round picks, I have no complaints about them.

Along with Donal at 288 lbs, I get the impression you don't value size on the defense. I can understand your reasoning with Smith but Not with Donald and Lynch. Both of those guys are going to get creamed at those wi\eights.

Also, I'm not clear. Are you hoping for and OG in the 2nd rnd? If so, I'm not sure how you can want another olineman ahead of the massive needs we have on defense. I don't think we can afford to NOT devote these resources to dline.

Personally if kony ealy is there at 16 I take him because I feel there are dt that can be had in rounds 2-4 that can come in and start.

I see better drpth at dt in this draft than de.

Id take donald too, but i dont think the Cowboys will. Atleast not at 16.

Just saw Dozier run, decent for a guy who looks athletic. They said he's a RD3-4 type guy.

If they drafted Telvin and get his weight up, Id love for them to move Carter to the strong side.

I dont think they go QB this draft. Hate the Fb in the 5th. Like Lynch but i think he is too small for DE will probably be a OLB in a 3-4

I agree this draft demands some early trade technique to optimize the talent we have identified on defense, Jerry does have some trade craft so I predict we might be better then just one pick in the first, second, and third rds after day 1. Our UDFA signing needs to hit another home run again in 2014.
I think you are correct about Donald's talent dovetailing with our needs(3 technique) perfectly(see him more at the end of the first rd like you), along with Dominic Easely(injury history), and Will Sutton(Weight issue 2013) in the 2nd/3rd rd, we better hope none of our identified guys shoot up the boards as the landscape is laid out very nicely for us at this point in time IMO.

The defense is screaming so loud for talent up front(DLine) it is hard to focus on the offensive side of things in this draft, we do need OG, RB, WR, QB backup, and OT if Free leaves the flock after next year, it would be nice to have a tackle in waiting with some experience(Parnell or draft pick). This draft is clearly only going to plug some of the many holes that are quickly developing.

T West the RB, he has some real speed and size and his big negative is that he has played at small school Towson, he jumps off the game footage. James Wilder Jr might be another similar back. Large and in charge. Lots of good talent late in this draft at the RB slot.

I agree with it is time for a QB in the draft(Orton rumor of retirement brings the Manziel interview into focus), I feel like Murray is worth a pick about where you have him(see him as a band-aid long term), I like the kid from Wyoming, B.Smith another alternative IMO. If Orton retires both of these guys are too far down the food chain as a viable backup in 2014.

In my mind we get defense in the first three rounds as this seems to be the hinge with the most squeak.

Agree, good draft but give me

Rd 2: Crichton or Marcus smith
Rd 3: Donald Thomas

I like the philosophy.
The 1st 3 picks seems 1/2 -1 round early to me...and I would not take Murray in the 4th. I actually think Dozier may go in the 4th or 5th.
Lynch would be good value in the 7th..IMO.
Guess we'll see. Like you said, it's early.
