Kind of surprised Al Johnson wasn't offered.

Naw that would be too cruel.

Rats. He slipped my mind. You're right though, it's best to stay as humane as possible.

That would solidify and bolster OLB / PASS RUSH.......

Would you trade a 2nd and get him in here?

Or better yet Ellis, AlS and a 6th?

Are you serious? I'm not being facetious, you seem to post every thought that your brain processes without any regard to feasibility.

I would love to get a stronger passrush in here, but again we're basing things on the first pre-season game. We really need to see how things unfold in the next 2 games before we throw anyone off the bridge.
Our concerns (i'm serious about this) are RT, FS, and WR! I'm so concerned about out RT position, and the ability for our line to stay healthy and our CENTER position it's tearing me up.
If our offensive issues aren't fixed, this season is over quick!

Wasn't Price traded for less than the tag?

Abraham can be traded for whatever 2 teams agree on - I said on the sly.

Yah, but the Jets have said they are not interested in trading him, and it's folly to think the situation is so bad they have to give him away.

Yes, any player can be traded for whatver is agreed on..but none lilke to look the fool. An elite pass rusher for two players who fit about as well as you claim they do here? That isn't 'on the sly", that's an upfront give-away.

I have no insider info but Parcells lamenting today about his OLB and lack of pass rushers struck a nerve.

I listen and think. Boohoo'd here but who cares. JA is in Parcells thought process - as an option. Settling on Als OLB in a 3-4 has to be tearing at him....
You listen and think -- and the conclusions are hysterical. :)

That Vulcan mind control you wield over Parcells?

It's as dysfunctional as Al's supposed ability - JA probably was in Bill's thought processes pre-draft. But if he can't rush the passer with what he's amassed now, he'll just have to pray that exposed secondary hs been upgraded enough to stave off disaster.

Bill's got a savior...but it isn't Johnny Abe.

He's already here and lines up across from Tnew.

A franchise tagged player can't be had for a second.

.

sure they can...the team that tags him can trade him for a bag of peanuts if they want...

you just cant SIGN them away without giving up 2 #1's...the original team has a choice to match the offer or accept 2 #1s as comp...but IF the team that has the players WANTS to trade their rights for less compensation, they can...I believe Tebucky Jones is a recent example...I think New Orleans got him for a 2nd

Abraham can't play DE in a 3-4 scheme. He is listed at 256. He isn't athletic enough to be an OLB in a 3-4 and drop into coverage. Sure he can rush the passer, but he could only play in the 4-3 scheme. He isn't worth two veteran starters that can play both the 3-4 and the 4-3 and a draft pick.

Who cares how well Abe would or would not fit?

It's an op to get rid of both Al and Ellis!

Can't pass that up.

Nors,

How 'bout Owens for Bledsoe, straight up? Thought has to have crossed Bill's mind, no? Bledsoe, even according to the most charitable assessment, is a bus driver type at the tail-end of his career. Owens is a franchise type WR and we certainly need to address the WR spot at some point, by Bill's own admission. Oh sure, others will say that Philadelphia would never do that trade. But we're talking getting Owens "on the sly" here, bro. You with me? I know you are, G. Me and you, man: we know how to think outside of the box!!

Nors and a forum where he can post are a dangerous combination...

I am sure they have already removed all the sharp things from his office. Don't they realize the damage he can do with a computer?

Has Abe recovered from that injury that kept him out of the playoffs? ;)

David, I was referring to the buyer not the seller.

As in, it's folly to think you can steal one "on the sly".
