Here's an article about Abram Elam, from a Brown's insiders perspective, that I found today and thought was intriguing. I haven't followed him and don't have any idea what Rob Ryan or the Cowboys coaches may think of him. But the article does paint a picture of a player who sounds like a prototype Garrett type guy - hardworking, blue collar, low-key and a good team guy. It sounds like his Browns teammates and coaches respect his ability, smarts and character.
it sounds like the Cowboys will be paying free agent money for Sensabaugh if they sign him. If they regard Elam as comparable talent-wise with Sensy, then he might make a nice alternative in the free agent market, maybe even at a discount since Elam doesn't have the amount of starting experience that Sensabaugh does. I could see lots of upside to a safety tandem of say, Huff and Elam. They'd be Ryan-ready from word go, a big positive given the quick transition to a Ryan defense that will be taking place this summer. Someone on the Eric Weddle thread made this point earlier...having two Ryan guys in the defensive backfield, who can both be quarterbacks for the defense, could really be a nice addition.

“Abe is a great example,” Brown said. “Always seen, never heard. He doesn’t complain about anything, goes out and does his job, one of the better safeties in the game, makes plays, very consistent, doesn’t make mistakes.
And you never hear about him because he’s not flashy. He’s a guy that’s earned his job the hard way, and I respect players like that.”
"Mangini has consistently applauded Elam’s role in directing traffic at the back of the defense. He’s eased Ward’s transition into life as an NFL safety and worked with the linebackers to get all 11 guys set in coordinator Rob Ryan’s complex defense."
