If reports are true and most everyone (save for Jerry) with the team wanted T.O. gone, and Garrett gave a T.O. or me ultimatum and is now gone, then Jerry is left with a still petulant T.O., NO OC and a lame duck (not to mention, pushover) coach who now must hire a OC and DC (to run his defense for his theoretical last year).

Doesn't instill a lot of confidence or hope for me, and I've truly never felt such uncertainty with my favorite team in all my life.

Slash and burn baby, slash and burn. We're hoping for a bumper crop.

They'll be fine. Garrett wasn't loyal enough to stick with it thru thick & thin. His true colors have been revealed. Sure, he's jumping on a chance while he is still relevant. It's a fairly smart move on his part since he probably would have brought his unimaginative offense back again and cemented us into mediocrity.

I wouldn't doubt that Jason Garrett gave Jerry Jones an ultimatum.

Must have been tough for Jerry Jones to be asked to take the side of one Golden Child over the other ;) .

You actually think he is disloyal for taking a promotion?

Then what does that make Terrell Owens when he refused to playout the duration of his contract in Philadelphia after one freakin year?

It makes him a player. Coaches should be held to a much higher standard. Players come & go especially in today's wide open financial sports market. Coaches are supposed to be the right hand.

Ya think?

Ego maniacs always have the right answers.

It has been chaos since the start of the offseason last year.

We are headed straight for the dead end again. and unfortunatley some good careers are probably going to get sent to the crapper during this time.

no worries though. The cheerleaders will still lead the team off the plane at training camp and jerry will make announcements about his stadium and the performers there during pregame at an away game like last year in arizona.

That was hilarious when he did that. LOL His mind was so not on the game.

You don't think assistants come in go in the National Football League?

I gurantee you Jerry Jones is proud that one of his own is about to become a Head Coach of an NFL team.

So Jason Garrett accepted a promotion = Traitor

Terrell Owens doing push ups in his lawn = Just being a player

Right...

Uncertainty? Jerry has no excuse now. he needs to go get Shanny. Glazers threw away $25 million just now because they didn't think they had a winning structure. All of this happening today is the best thing that could happen. Stewart and Garrett gonzo? Now Wade needs to be DC and I'm positive Shanny woud want Wade. Wade also like's that $3 million salary and a shot to win a SB ring even if it's a DC. He will never win one as a HC.

Unbelievably stupid thread.

Jason Garrett was interviewing for head coaching jobs last year too.

Yeah, I'm sure it's all about Terrell Owens. T.O. this, T.O. that.

Most everyone wants T.O. gone, yet for some weird reason, he was voted a team captain this year.

For some strange reason, he's screwing around and chatting it up with all the backs and receivers on the sidelines.

For some reason, Terrence Newman goes on national TV after the Werder piece to defend him and call out the "coward."

For some bizarre reason, Patrick Crayton says that he's almost positive the "source" for all this stuff wasn't anyone on the Cowboys team. And it's not as if Crayton was sugarcoating stuff--remember, he made no secret that he thought Owens's relationship with Garrett might be a little "rocky."

But yeah, I'm sure most of them want the guy who gives them their "iFillInTheBlank" shirts off the team. They just wanted to go to his birthday party before they wished him away.

Unbelievably poor comprehension skills.

IMO, the T.O. thing was ONE factor of the chaos, but thanks for giving me more ammunition.

T.O., Newman, Ellis, Carp, Newman and others running their mouths on national TV about drama only adds fuel to the drama, which again, just adds to the chaos.

We are without a doubt a rudderless ship (and have been for quite some time).

I doubt that Jason Garrett gave Jerry an ultimatum. He had nowhere to go until tonight.

Hos is dead on: this was red's shot because he and Devaney(sp?) the st. loser GM have "Jersey" connections. Great, good luck Red. It does look bleak but the right pesonality: SHANAHAN can get it turned around in short order IMO. I hope that's what's going on. If JJ stands pat with Cupcake while Gruden and Shanny are out there: that would be brutally pathetic beyond all comprehension.

I seriously doubt Garrett issued any unltimatum. I seriously doubt if Jerry is that upset. Garrett is not a traitor nor jumping ship. Anyone who wouldn't want to be a HC in Garrett's position wouldn't be worth having.

Preach on jobberone. Much ado about nothing with regard to Garrett's "ultimatum" Nonsense and trivial. He's gone, it's his decision and happy trails..........NEXT.

Werder says in his latest ESPN blurb that Jones is willing to cut TO if it means keeping Garrett. Will post in separate thread.

Jerry hires the coordinators, no one's allowed to hire their own staff in Jerry's world.

Kinda OD'd on the T.O. lack of an OK to be the DJ on the OC that can deliver a KO. A-OK to be da best in 09.
