Two issues...

A) Atlanta is trying to win this year since Gonzalez is doing his victory lap.

B) transcendent players aren't so easily passed up unless the team is well stocked at that position. And rarely are teams in the top 5 stacked at pass rusher. We saw the rare move by St Louis last year because they had their franchise QB. Rumor is if you called the Colts least year it didn't matter what your package was.... You were getting hung up on.

Well yea ... they had the best QB prospect since John Elway. Of course you hang up on everyone.

Agree with your second statement, but I doubt Atlanta is doing this because it's Gonzalez final year. I could see maybe if it were Ryans last year but not a TE.

Also, A Quality QB will almost always go before a defensive prospect. Out of the top 10 picks this year, 8 out of 10 teams need a QB. Meaning next year, likely 5-6 teams will be looking for a QB as well, further making clowney more expendable to trades.

IMHO of course

I remember in the past when I was playing fantasy football and wanted to make a trade...you always look for the weakest link and try to get the best deal possible from the guy that you KNOW isn't going to win the league anyway...

...that is what this sounds like...Atlanta's owner is a a river-boat gambler and will make any move to try to get over the hump...he knows the raiders are clueless and are willing to trade down from their pick...

...that and this is likely to be a smokescreen to see if seattle or san fran get nervous and start making "counter" moves...

the season of misinformation is almost over!!!

I think its for a pass rusher. I think they want Dion Jordan.

1st and 2nd this year. 1st and 3rd next year. A few players. It could get done.
That would be absolutely ridiculous if its what the Falcons are thinking.

As for teams toying with a move up ... 49ers looking for a DL or S; Falcons want a pass rusher or CB. Eifert could be in play for either.

The Falcons cut their starting RT and their top backup signed as a Free Agent with the Patriots.

Well, if they want one of the big 3 they might have to move up this far to get one.

At #3!!! WOW if true I can't believe it. I guess it has to be Jordan.

I think that Jordan is the 2nd best player in this draft, after Fisher.

I heard Atlanta is putting out the rumors of. Milliner's injury history to drive down the price of a trade up if he's there. Heard that's who they want.
