Arkansas RB Felix Jones, and Indiana WR James Hardy and CB Tracy Porter have been penciled in to visit Valley Ranch, three more of the 30 in-house visits the Cowboys are able to host with draft prospects.
All three are tentatively slated to come in on or around April 16, according to the office of agent Eugene Parker.
Jones, whom Timmy Tabloid profiled today, is a first-round prospect who could merit consideration at either the 22nd or 28th spot. Hardy is a 6-foot-5, 218-pound specimen, ran a 4.45 at the combine, and is a likely early second-rounder that probably won't be around when the Cowboys pick at 61st overall. Porter could be there at 61, even after running a 4.37 at the combine.
We now have nine of the 30 allotted visits nailed down. They are as follows ...
UNLV ILB Beau Bell
Arizona CB Antoine Cason
Texas RB Jamaal Charles
Indiana WR James Hardy
Arkansas RB Felix Jones
Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly
Troy CB Leodis McKelvin
Indiana CB Tracy Porter
Tennessee State CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Hardy is quite a bit faster than i figured he'd be. He might be an excellent pro reciever with that size and speed.

Tracy Porter might have shot all the way up to the bottom of the 1st with his Pro Day. He ran a scorching 4.29 40, and is looking to pass up several CBs who have faired far less than the playmaker from Indiana in showing their wares.

Porter has 16 ints. for his 4-yr. career, and is also a fine return man & punt return gunner. At 5-11, 190, he has enough size to get stronger & become a better tackler to better stop the run. Right now, I only have maybe 4-5 CBs ahead of Porter, with his speed.

We could take Hardy or Sweed with the 22nd pick. Once we take Porter with the 28th pick, we wouldn't have to worry so much if Chris Johnson is there at 61. If he is already gone, Porter would still give us the speed guy we need for returns. However, it would be awesome to have two of the fastest players in the draft on the team. I feel one thing that has set our defense & special teams back is lack of speed. Porter & Johnson would likely both end up on ST the first year.
Can you imagine having them both back there to receive KOs? Talk about picking your poison!!

Hardy is an interesting prospect at 6'5. I think he also scored in the top 10 of many of the other combine events. I couldn't find his shuttle times but I thought they were more impressive than his 40 time.

As I have stated numerous times....my favorite pick for us is Run DMC

However, if we do not trade up for him

I want Indiana WR James Hardy......

I love me some James Hardy. I hope he's there at 28 and we pull the trigger, he's got a pretty high ceiling. He did what he did in college with only a few years playing the receiver position, or football in general. Imagine what he could do with T.O. and Garrett to mentor him?

Don't worry about that. It was just a mistake by DMN on his size. He is 6-7 and has ton of skills and underrated speed.

He is NOT 6'7".

He is a shade under 6'6".

6' 5 5/8" Is what he measured at the combine. Two questions: how good are his hands and does he know how to use his size on DB's?
