Let's try Morgan Freeman, one of my very favorite actors. Once again, good luck with a bad role.

Best...Red in Shawshank Redemption.

Oh yeah, Shawshank obviously. You almost have to ask the question with the caveat that you have to EXCLUDE that movie, in which case I'd probably go for Se7en.

Excluding Shawshank, I'd have to go with Driving Miss Daisy.

Was that the movie about a serial killer?

That is a good one. I might have to go with Ned in Unforgiven.

It was mostly a cameo role but he did an amazing job as a crazed prisoner in the Robert Redford movie "Brubaker."

Yes.

I really like his role in Lucky # Slevin.

Although, I really like that movie so maybe it's more the movie than Freeman as Freeman's role, while big, isn't all that big.

I liked his roles in the new Batman movies as well.

I really can't think of a movie that I have seen with him in it that has been bad. Truly a great actor.

Best is definitely Shawshank. I don't think I saw a Morgan Freeman movie where I didn't think he was good, so for worst I'll go with "Bucket List", since I didn't see that movie and it looked really bad.

I don't really care for his role in the Batman movies, but generally the guy is always on.

He wasn't the star, but I really liked him in Million Dollar Baby. Very natural and easy to put away the fact that he's a well recognized actor and just believe his part.

Best: Invictus/Million Dollar Baby - Shawshank is a classic and set the standard for Freeman's amazing voice over work, but I don't think it's even in his Top 5 actual performances. That one's a tie for me.

Worst: Wanted/Unleashed - Both movies were simply a waste of time, Freeman was fine but why he was in either film, I have no idea.

In addition to the best already mentioned, I rather liked him in the Batman movies. Denzel won the Oscar for Glory, but Morgan Freeman was just as deserving. And don't forget Amistad.

Worst: Azeem in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, God in Bruce/Evan Almighty

I liked Morgan in Wanted and Robin Hood.

Have to go Evan Almighty for the worst.

Best I'll go with Glory

He's good in anything he does, even as God in the Evan/Bruce Almighty's.

I'm gonna say (beside's Shawshank) my favorite role he's played has been in Glory or Unforgiven.

I think that when I get to heaven, if God's voice doesn't sound like Morgan Freeman's or David Attenborough I will be very disappointed.

And here I was thinking that I would be hearing George Burns' voice. :muttley:

I thought he did a great job in his Alex Cross roles and in Unforgiven.

His worst was Hard Rain.

Freeman is one of my favorite actors too.

If you exclude Shawshank, you still have movies like Lean on Me where I think he played equally well.

Worst movie? I don't know, I haven't seen them all and I've enjoyed most that I've seen with him in them. All the ones people listing as his worst, I haven't seen.

Edit: I've seen Bruce Allmighty, but I don't recall that movie very well. I don't even remember his part, so I guess I will go with that. :laugh2:

I'd have to go with Million Dollar Baby, and also enjoyed Along Came a Spider.

He has a great voice for narration / voice overs.

His voice intro for The CBS Evening News is fantastic in my opinion.
