pretty good actor

most probably remember him from Gladiator, or being the younger brother of River Phoenix

Good actor but for whatever reason I always find him creepy.

Although I did read a funny story on IMDB...I will copy it. It is from the movie we own the night.

According to an interview with Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix would get into character by hurling insults at 'Robert Duvall (I)' between takes. This upset Duvall greatly and Wahlberg had to restrain him.

=====

I could see Duvall wanting to beat him....love Duvall.

In my really, really bad opinion, his best contribution to Hollywood was not the movie he made, but the movie that was made as the result of his movie:

I always liked his creepiness.

That Duvall stuff is great. Gotta love that guy.

Shame though, Pheonix was a damn fine actor. I wonder if he wouldn't mind taking Nick Cage with him into obscurity.

That is a bad opinion. :D

Of all of Reilly's movies, I thought that one was by and large his worst. I'm not sure I laughed once.

Very odd interview. It seems like Phoenix, Affleck, and the interviewer are all in on a joke. Especially Affleck.

FTMFW

Critical success, but a box office bomb. If you do have the Blu Ray you have to check out all of the extras. Most of it is as good as the movie. 'Lil Nutsack. :laugh2:

If we're talking just his comedies, I think The Promotion was a very weak effort. He was still funny in it, but it was just mediocre overall.

Yes, I am quite ashamed of my liking this movie! I know it's bad and yet I still can't look away! :p:

I would laugh when he would walk into the bathroom and Tim Meadows would do his bit every time...rest of it...not so much.

I wish O'Reilly would just go back to doing serious roles

Good actor who was in a handful of movies I really enjoyed. I've got a feeling within a year or two he'll be back to acting.

He looks like the kid from Roseanne -- Darlene's boyfriend -- in that clip.

But seriously, "Jacquine?"

Agreed. I like his work. He was EXCELLENT in Gladiator... although my favs were (in this order): Crowe, his wife that was slain then Djimon, then Joaquin.

This is not the first time someone in show business "retired" (real or not) and came back.

If they retire... then when they want to make a new movie "so and so is coming out of retirement" woohoo... we are all suckers for sensationalism :D
