I'm not trying to talk smack, but I've watched alot of Archuleta over the last year, and I honestly wonder how this kid is in the NFL. I'm not sure he could play in the CFL. He's THAT bad.

Can you imagine the laughing and high fiving that went on in his agents office when lil danny snyder faxed over that contract offer?

They laughed all the way to the bank.

In St. Louis, they basically used him as a 4th linebacker. He was decent in that role. He could get some sacks and run stop. He is a pretty good athlete, but has very poor coverage skills.

Washington made a slew of questionable signings.

Archuletta is not that great a safety. He's a strong safety, and in all honesty, so is Sean Taylor.

Andre Carter had one good season in SF where he had 12 sacks. Talk to any 49ers fan and they will tell you he's not that good. Same with Brandon Lloyd. Otherwise would a team that is rebuilding let young talent walk?

TJ Duckett is a great backup RB, but not for a 3rd round pick.



Washington are the kings of signing big name free agents, but not putting up the money to keep their own players. Instead of drafting a DL with their first pick last year, they were forced to take Rogers because they didn't want to pay Smoot.

They let players walk all the time, and are not very good at suplementing their roster with draft picks. Look at all their key players, most of them are not drafted by them. Brunell (not key anymore) was brought in. Portis was acquired for one of the guys they actually had homegrown. Moss was brought in for another player they aquired from another team (Coles).

Besides Cooley, most of their key players are brought in from somewhere else.

Now they are on their way to a losing season, they have no draft picks to really add much depth with, and their defense is being held hostage by huge contracts to Carter and Archuletta.
