I was just wondering what people think of this guy as an addition to the dline? He seemed to flash in the games against the 'Boys from what I remember. It looks like he had a decent season rushing the QB from the end spot and he'll probably come relatively cheap for a guy with prototypical size in the 3-4.

I like him, too. I am a Texan living in Nebraska. I have started to really appreciate the quality of players that come out of Nebraska. Great acquisition if we can swing it.

Decent player. But he's no better than Jason Hatcher. We have enough solid decent players on the DL. If we sign someone there, it needs to be an impact player. Carriker is not by a longshot.

Cowboys don't sign Commander almost/has beens.

I think the Commanders will keep him.

They won't. They spent big money on Bowen and Cofield and prior to free agency, they spent a 2nd round pick on Jarvis Jenkins, who the coaching staff loves. The skins will be reluctant to spend similar money to what Bowen got because Jenkins is the guy they want starting longterm, and Carriker will be reluctant to stay knowing that it's only a matter of time till Jenkins is given a starting role.

The only way he returns is if there isn't much of a market for him. As far as we go, he had a decent year rushing the passer and I'd give him Marcus Spears money, but I don't think he's got the quickness to slide inside on Nickel/Dime situations.

I agree-but he would be a solid depth guy in a year where there are few good 3-4 FA ends available and a mediocre group in the draft. He had 5.5 sacks last year which would be the most of all the Cowboy lineman. I think he's a guy whose finally found his niche and would be a big upgrade over Coleman.

I do think he was miscast as a 4-3 DE or DT, where ever the Rams played him.

Carriker is better than Hatcher. He's bigger and better against the run, AND was more effective as a pass rusher. He's only 27 to boot.

Hatcher is a poor man's Stephen Bowen. That is the player that the Boys foolishly let go, opting instead for cheapie leftovers like Spears and Coleman.
