He signed an extension til 2016, but the last 3 years are voidable if he is on the roster in 2013.
Articles say that they did this so they could pro-rate his signing bonus over 5 years, wouldn't that signing bonus accelerate when his contract runs out in 2013?
I don't see what the point was.
