I would love that. Could be a Superbowl for the ages.

You would have the former Cowboys asst Norv Turner leading the Chargers against former Chargers DC Wade Phillips. You'd also have the storylines of both being the top two coaching candidates to replace Parcells in 2007. LaDanian Tomlinson facing the team he grew up watching, with him idolizing Emmitt Smith. You'd have the top two TEs in the NFL in Gates and Witten. Also the two outside linebacker standouts from the 2005 draft in DeMarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman. Just to name a few.

That was my pick at the beginning of the year and I hope we get to see a rematch

A few mediots picked that matchup earlier in the preseason. Irvin I think was one of them.

Then Marshall Faulk scoffed at that prediction.

Chargers are playing great ... Rivers is insanely good and the AFC teams are not terribly strong this year.

NFC... as it stands, I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the 6 teams go to the SB.

Does anyone know the Super Bowl record of teams that met during the regular season? I vaguely remember reading something about the loser of the regular season game usually wins the rematch. Or maybe that's wishful memory on my part. Does anybody know?

Personally I think the NFC is going to be represented by either Dallas/GB/Philly and the AFC will be represented by SD/Indy

And we'd probably lose again.

Rivers knows this defense.

And we can't stop those 6'8" receivers.

It has happened a number of times. The first one that comes to memory for me is the 1990 giants bills superbowl.

The bills beat the giants at home in buffalo and ended phil simms season.

and I think we lost week 2 to buffalo in 93.

then of course new england ny in 07

and in 01 st louis beat the pats in st louis.

I would have to look more up. I think the giants beat the broncos in 86 during the season and then again in the sb.

In 83, Wash beat Raiders in season, lost in SB.
In 85, Chi beat NE in season and SB.
In 94, SF beat SD in reg season and SB.
In 99, Ten beat StL, but lost in SB

Didn't they put up 20 points against our defense? Sounds more like the Cowboys defense knows Rivers and the Chargers.

we gave up 20 points....

the offense would have to score more in the re-match to be sure.
