Adam Schefter reporting that Dielman could get Hutchinson money

could be getting a fatter contract than Steve Hutchison and the early favorites are the Seahawks. If this is true, we can take him off our list because Jerry will not pay that type of money for RG. He said he will match or even succeed Hutchison contract.

i realize that seattle and minnesota were having their little showdown last year over hutchinson, but...

how stupid are the seahawks to let hutchinson go, then turn right around and offer a more lucrative deal to someone else this year?

they would have been better off not letting hutchinson get to the open market.

pay me now, or pay me later.

IMHO, the logic of it supports our deal with gurode (i.e. seems like we did the right thing).

I don't know exactly how big Dielman's contract will be, but I'm betting it's bigger than Dallas will go. I just don't expect the Cowboys to pony up big money again to a guard for the third straight year.

If they sign a guy, I expect it to be more along the lines of a Kosier type signing.

But you have to remember that it was not the dollar amount, it was the "poison pill" provision that kept them from resigning him.

poison pill or not they had a chance to match if they wanted to keep him
