I picked the Cowboys to go 7-9. If that happens, Jones' skin will crawl and he will fire Jason Garrett, who has had issues with game management and play selection in his short tenure coaching in Dallas. Jones wrongly believes he has a Super Bowl team. I like Tony Romo, but he gets blamed for everything in Dallas. If the Cowboys miss the playoffs again, Jerry wrongly will jettison the quarterback.

Schein trying to be provocative is all... and he's getting worse at it as time goes by. After trying to drum up interest with his "He said what?" headline, this opening to his blog prognostications says it all:

"Now that I have your attention, ..."

As others have said, that's really all he cares about. Being correct in his predictions takes a distant back seat to what he's really aiming for.

Seems to be an all too common goal of a lot of sports "reporters" these days, unfortunately.

I listen to Sirius NFL Radio all the time. Schein likes to hear himself talk though no one else does. His voice alone annoys the crap out of me. The only thing worse is his lack of actual football knowledge. When the term "talking head" was coined, they had this guy in mind. Basically, he's an idiot.

In his defense, this was being marketed as an alternative to "boring" prediction threads. He's been intentionally provocative, even more so than typical sports journalism.

He's a complete tool to be sure...and the most annoying, birth-control voice on the planet. He's followed closely by Solomon Wilcott (sp).
