Check this guy out. I noticed Shaheen on a couple of lists for declared underclassmen. He is a Jr and goes to Div II Ashland. Seemed weird to see a Div II TE declare early and only saw him on some sites but not others, so I tried to find more info.

Anyway...whoa. Legit NFL talent with frame to be a complete TE. Baby Gronk.

I've seen him listed at 6-6 and 275 lbs, but he's not a lumbering giant. Dude can motor. Some write ups are saying he's slow, but I don't see it. The level of competition can make it hard to gauge, but he's outrunning DBs and I have to think even in Div II the DBs can run in the 4.65 to 4.7 range at least. He looks faster and more coordinated than fellow Div II prospect Billy Brown, who's a 6-4 and 235 lbs WR at Shepherd.

A 2-sport athlete in bball (Small Forward) and fball (WR and SS) in HS, but primarily bball. Hit a growth spurt and wanted to get back to fball. Transferred after Freshman year at Pitt-Johnstown and switched to fball at Ashland, where he became a two-time Div II All-American.

Some work safe vids...

Ashland has more highlight vids of their games on youtube. He's #44.

My initial thought was why not transfer to a div I school and put himself on the map, but after reading some articles, it sounds like he already has the attention of NFL scouts.

He is impressive.

Must have football intelligence to play TE in the NFL at a consistently high level. Unfortunately we as fans can't interview players.

MartyB could have been Gronk. He bigger with similar if not better athleticism.

Having the skill to interview Gronk and MartyB and to know which one had the right mental makeup is critical. They both seem goofy but one is All-Pro and one of the best ever while the other is inconsistent and keeps getting sent packing by teams. I wonder what would have happened if MartyB got drafted by the Patriots.

Will be interesting to see what he does at the combine, he looks like a OT playing TE

2018: Cowboys line up with a 6-7, 277 lb. TE on one side of the formation and a 6-8, 290 lb. TE on the other...

Thanks for the post. Very interesting.

Like Shaheen and Saubert better than Butt. And Billy Brown is supposed to be a 4.5 guy, that's great speed for a TE. Another converted WR from a bigger school with almost exact same size and speed is Washington Huskies Darrell Daniels (6'3 255 4.54). No need to take any of these players before the 5th.
