Adam the salary cap guy?

I was listening to Talking Cowboys one day last week and I heard them mention that part of the reason the Cowboys might've signed Miles Austin before the season may have had something to do with periodicity in regards to the operating cycle the team uses.

Anyway long story short, one of them said "We'd have to ask Adam, the accountant who handles the salary cap stuff about it." It made me think, I'll bet that Adam he was talking about is our own AdamJT13 that is always delivering salary cap and general knowledge expertise on this board. Anyway, I just wanted to mention it, because I'm tired of reading most of the threads on page 1. :laugh2:

I was gonna post the exact same thing when I heard it last Thursday or Friday but didn't have the motivation

But yeah, that's what jumped out at me; that guy's our Adam. There's no way that guy can be so privvy to the in and outs of the NFL salary cap rules and structure without being on some team.

Even if it is the same guy, as long as he doesn't acknowledge it, he has nothing to worry about, and in fact even if he did he wouldn't, because he's never once given any kind of insider information that others can't access.

It's not like he's here telling us who is going to get extended before it happened. :laugh2: I have no problem with a mod deleting the thread or something if they think they should though. I just thought I'd see if anybody else heard the same thing and wondered. =)

the guy has great knowledge and bring oustanding information to the board .. but I am going to go out on a limb and say he isn't the team's cap guy. I expect he is more likely someone who works for an agent and has access to the NFL databases for salary and contracts -- this cap stuff, honestly, it is not brain surgery and Adam is not an uncommon name. He really has too much passion for this stuff for it to actually be his job
