Adam Thielen giving Mingo props

No lies told here by Thielen. Mingo is certainly a versatile player, which gives down the depth chart value. He can block, can play all over on special teams, line up in all WR positions, run routes everywhere from deep balls to screens, etc.

The issue with Mingo is I'm still waiting to see what he does thats significantly better than the other players aside from blocking. He has speed to run those go routes, but isnt quick enough to make defenses truly respect him as a deep threat. Very quick feet, but still doesnt run crisp routes. Big body with a massive but doesnt seem to play to his size on tape.

No shortage of traits with this guy, its yet to translate to the showing up on film though.

"When he settles in and is a part of the same system..."

Gets his second offensive system in less than a season in Dallas.

Key word for most of the new acquisitions, potential. Some might realize their potential but it's not something you can bet on every player maximizing their potential.

You can’t but some will hit. Some will bust. I honestly like the approach.

I always liked Adam Thielen.

Sounds like a good review of Mingo. He mentions versatility and not being a one trick pony. Both those are really important for a WR.
Seems like everyone likes when people have something positive to say about the Cowboys "oh I like that person", let it be someone that has something critical to say "Oh i never liked him anyways, he's a bumb!" (Speaking in general)

Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert. Mingo and Turpin are solid as our top 5 WR’s this season.

With Pickens and Tolbert in the last year of their contracts, Mingo has a chance to move up the depth chart if he proves his worth.

He runs a 4.46 40.

Built like Dez.

Did 22 reps on the bench.

Mingo sux until I'm proven otherwise. And the reason we dont have a legit rookie RB on the roster right now. Oodles of legit RB's flew off the board in the 4th.

I was a huge fan of him in the draft process. Like many of said, has all the physical traits you want in a prospect, just has to put it all together and take that next step. It is good that they brought in Pickens so he isn't forced to play a bigger role while he is still in developmental stage. I like his upside more then Tolbert, but he has to take that next step before it's too late.

C'mon now, RBs were available in every round, so that was a front office decision not to get a better RB moreso than the Mingo trade. Also, why blame Mingo, he didn't trade for himself?

Thats fine, but I'm just saying that it hasn't translated to the tape yet. His 40 time seems to be a reflection of excellent acceleration rather than top end speed where he can run past defenders. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but hes not the true stretch the field type deep threat many think for this reason. He is going to have to find ways to use his size to win more contested catches down field, or use those quick feet to better execute double moves to beat guys that way. Its a big reason why hes a lot more potential than production right now. Not saying the potential isnt there, the guy just still has a large leap he needs to make.

Solid post. I agree the Top 5 WRs are set, and the other guys are fighting for the sixth spot, which, may not exist come September due to an extra TE.

I agree, Pickens may leave which I wouldn't be mad about, and Tolbert could be back on a cheap deal. If this happens, Mingo would be in position to be WR2 or WR3 next season.

Mingo should be making a leap this season giving the opportunity. Lastly, I see WR3 as a committee position between Turp, Tolbert and Mingo.

I have Noah Brown as the hope for Mingo. Anything above that will be an unexpected surprise.
