adam timmerman was just released just now by the Rams... how is he? from what i can remember about him he's pretty good.. maybe getting up there in age and he's been injured a bit lately hasnt he? maybe hed be a cheap option if we draft a Guard early, he can play till the player is ready?

edit- just looked him up... hes never injured.. had a huge games played streak snapped by some broken ribs but he is 35 years... could still be a good option if we want to draft a guard in the 1st round and have timmerman play till the rookie is ready.. or since theres not that many guards available this year maybe sign timmerman to a cheap 1 year deal and then look to get some 1 next year??

Didnt Timmerman used to play tackle there before or am I thinking of someone else?

He has never played tackle. And he'll be 36 before the season starts.

He's a nice guy, and he used to be really good, but he's way too old to consider, I think.

He'll be back here in South Dakota come fall

He's actually from Cherokee, Iowa, and still owns his family's farm there.

The Rams are reportedly going to release Timmerman, who says that he has no plans to retire. The 35 year old guard started his career with the Packers. The Rams acquired him via free agency in 1998. He has been to the Pro Bowl twice.

Any interest?

I hope we learned our lesson with 30-something guards.

10 years ago, I would have loved having a guard tandem of Marco Rivera and Adam Timmerman. Now........not so much. :)
