Are we sure this guy is no good? I know these are highlights, i.e. all the good stuff. But he looks like a legit player with lots of game speed. No one's coming even close to catching him when he gets a step on them.... I've seen highlight reels of Manningham, Jackson, Hardy, Doucett, etc... and Bowman looks more impressive than most to me.

Character issues. Knee problem. VERY questionable hands.

Pretty much explains why he isn't rated that highly.

It's not that he's no good, he just has been doing nothing but bad since the season ended. First, he had a poor Senior Bowl, dropping passes in workouts and in the game. Then he had a bad workout at the combine, ran something like a 4.6 or 4.7, THEN he got arrested for having weed on him.

He's effictively driven himself from a possible 1st or 2nd rounder to a late round pick if not a FA.

He has had one of the worst offseasons a guy could have. The guy is trouble. Big trouble. No thanks.

There's no doubt he can play. That isn't why he's off most team's draft boards though.

He got busted for pot just a couple of week ago.

I agree that he has talent, though. Too bad some of these guys throw it all away.

Bowman has awesome talent in my opinion and on his pro day I believe he only dropped 2 passes. But what the stupid thing he did was getting caught with weed. He does not have character issues just a bad habbit with the drug. He deserves to drop no doubt. However, in person he is actually a good person. I would not mind picking him up in the later rounds. Its not like he is already doomed and can not get help. Its funny how people take it when Talib got caught 3 times for weed but his stock drops just a little. If it was michael Irvin you guys would be man we can get him and he can clean his act up but if its Bowman its heeeck no. I wouldnt mind Bowman personally.

Yep his bad decision making (that got him busted with weed), suspect hands, a bad Senior Bowl and Senior bowl practice week, and a less than stellar combine have all hurt him a great deal.

You will read about him in the future. It may be the on field production or the rap sheet.

Lousy comparison.

The Cowboys were already locked into keeping Irvin who was an established NFL playmaker.

They can easily avoid making a mistake on a guy prior to the draft.

The fact is that why would a team draft someone they know they can't count on?

This isn't Bowman's first screw-up.

And when the guy can't stay away from the weed during the most important job interview of his life, there's a problem.

If you're talking about rolling the dice in Round 7?

Sure, why not?

Little risk there.

Terrible comparision. Mainly because there were several reasons given for why people were down on him that had nothing to do with the weed. Nice job of cherry picking the weed thing out and trying to use it as peoples 'sole' claim for downgrading him.

He was not an established player in the NFL coming out of college. Bowman is not done with at all. A lot of players had mulitple mistakes in the past and was able it fix it. Does Bowman have a problem, yes. Is his like completely doomed no. Its up to him on how he turns out. You dont know and I dont know how he will turn out. However, I believe that he can turn out to be a good one. If you cant trust people for cleaning up their actions then no top wide reciever should be taken in your opinion except for Devin Thomas and Lima Sweed. The rest of them have some serious issues

I'm not 'writing anybody off'. I hope Bowman gets it turned around.

But he's no 'victim' here the way you're trying to portray him.

Everything that's happened to him has been the result of his own actions.

And actually, you're right. Sweed and Thomas are the only two receivers I would consider taking in the first round.

Your right it was his own actions, I never said it wasnt. I dont see him as a victim but if you are looking at him as a 7th rounder and then the rest of the recievers are 2nd rounders then that does not make sense at all. Bowman does not deserve to be drafted in the first 2 rounds. But neither does the rest with issues. In this draft I think No reciever is worthy of a first round grade even with the no issue recievers.

I was high on him during the beginning of the year, but I just don't know now. I would take him in the 5th or below, but not anywhere above. I also read somewhere that he isn't very bright, and his recent actions are proving that. Right now, he has Mike Williams written all over him and he has nobody to blame but himself.

Edit: i know my sig has him in round 2-3, but I am too lazy to change it...

all season long i was touting this guy....he was the one guy i wanted....but then....he stopped catching passes, he became injury prone, and his character is lacking.....

I can deal with a guy who has questionable character, but he better be able to stay on the field and also catch the ball when thrown to him.....

No thank you to Bowman.

The guy is not injury prone, he got injured once in his career and still managed to come back to the bowl game. He just bruised his knee. He only droped 2 passes at his pro day. However, its no excuse what he has done lately.
