Adrian Peterson: "NFL like Modern day slavery"

What a king-sized jack wagon. Honestly, a system of slavery that pays the slaves a minimum salary of $300,000 to start? I don't remember seeing Kunta Kinte getting anything like that in "Roots."

It's just so disrespectful to the memory of those who actually endured slavery to say things like this. If you read his other quotes he doesn't sound like a particularly bright guy though, so it's not a surprise he is just saying whatever comes to mind without thinking.

people that were actually slaves are rolling over in their grave. People in everyday life have to fight to keep their jobs and negotiating salaries isn't really popular unless you have a union. I totally dislike AP for this.

If being a slave means that I get paid a huge salary to play a game then put the shackles on me.

If youve ever heard this guys poor attempts at the english language this shouldnt suprise you very much.

I don't take it as being disrespectful to those who were slaves because I don't think there was any intent to do that, nor do I think Peterson actually believes the situations are that close. I just think it was a stupid comment made by an unthinking person.
