Wrong attitude, the Boys need to tank bigtime to get the top spot in the 2026 draft. Arch Manning is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!!!!!!!!!!!
Arch couldn't beat out Ewers. That dont mean hes wont be a good QB cause he probably will but he like the rest of the QBs in the league will need a solid TEAM to have success. Im never on board with tanking. I also know that as long as the jones buffoons are running thing it matters not whos behind center

You almost had me,

most of that stuff you said was true except for that we weren't going to be good enough to make the playoffs,

and I don't believe that if healthy just think about all the things you said we get those guys back we have a good draft and they still have tons of money left and more when they sign Parsons they're going to make a move possibly, we don't know what's going to happen, yet..

you're way too early on saying that "more of the same"
I don't think so, we were missing about 18 players at some point during the season not at the same time, but some position groups were absolutely destroyed, when you don't have any of your starting or your second or your third string pass rushers, corners,LB, in a new defense and that's just part of it.
then you lose your quarterback and lamb gets hurt Martin, chuma, richards, goes out..
you're shuffling and you also have a coaching staff this is the big kicker that didn't start doing the things they should've been done by throwing out the kitchen sink by forgetting that Rico was on the team until after like week 9 or 10 same thing with Turpin not utilizing the players properly and changing the scheme as you lost players it was almost a lost cause too many players went out and their backups went out ..
if you don't have that same catastrophe this team this core part of this team is still good enough especially with the new coaching staff that I believe in more as we're talking about in this thread I have to put it in there I believe they'll get more out of this team then Mike McCarthy and his staff I'm not sure if it was a lame duck or whatever the injuries but he did it two years in a row with the late starts the confusing use of rotations between Pollard and Rico and not utilizing Turpin and hunter we didn't even really need to bring back zeke if he knew how to use some of these bigger players how Kellen more used to use the lineman in short yardage Mike was just clueless I like him solid head coach but as an OC not good at all he only started doing creative things when it was desperate to do so should've been doing it from game one..

So while I'm cautiously optimistic about this new coaching staff ,

I believe they're going to be better and if we don't have all the losses to major areas of the team in bunches we could win 10 games this year, easily, in my opinion. Just kidding the run game even just improved with a better rotation of runners and having a clue with the offensive line is gonna improve this team big time and we're not even done yet in this offseason the drafts not even here yet..

We won seven games last year with a patch together team mostly a backups we beat nearly swept Washington with backups I mean literally a practice squad team in the second game and they needed Marcus Mariota to save the game and then we were that weird special teams play away from winning was it the Cincinnati game the ball bounce weird he touched it I think we win that game we're on the streak we might have got in with 9 games...

So think about it packed together team tons of injuries bad coaching and we could have won nine games last year how we got 7 games I don't know but being 12th picking in the draft if we even have half of the negative things don't happen this year we can win 10 games no problem everybody thinks that Washington's going to dominate and we're going to stay where we were last year and I don't see that some of those names they added this year like Samuels and Gallup are reaches these guys are on the decline and they're not that good the name on the back of the jersey and they swapped out one of their best interior defensive lineman for a guy that makes about the same amount of money and about the same talent level that's a parallel move that does not make them better they struggle to beat our practice squad last year..
I'm not saying they're going to be bad but think about this all them times guys like The Jets with Mark Sanchez and Bortles with the Jags had that one good year we didn't even say to the New York Giants did they went to the playoffs but then they regressed I don't see Washington being that much better than us when healthy and when coached properly they're not that big a threat and we've handled the eagles on a split that Prescott is 33 and eight in the east and that's not going to change that much because he got hurt...IMHO
I said a good draft gets us a wild card spot. Do you honestly think this team does better than that? If they do, Schottenheimer should win Coach of the Year.

Considering the quality of efforts being taken by our front office, there's zero optimism here!

The choices being made in terms of the new coaching corps affords scant hope for the fans.

Since, again, having to take in the lack of serious effort for free agency, there's no optimism.

I voted no.

As of right now I am not optimistic we’ll be .500 even if we stay injury free. With our schedule, and as of tonight, our HC is unproven and our roster hasn’t significantly improved I see us struggling to get 7 wins.

No. I think we all will have a 2 year acclimation period starting this year, where we transition from the team we're used to seeing (wins creampuff games, stomps on bad teams, gets everyone growling a few times a year before choking in the playoffs) to a bad, bad team that never gives you hope for the playoffs. Think the Jets

Yeah, we don't need no Troy Aikmans, just get in the way. And those annoying super bowls. Better to remain around .500, sure opens up January and February.

Does that mean the 28th-ranked (31st in points allowed) defense doesn't need to be fixed? Here I thought all along that the phrase, "Defenses win championships was true"
KC sure thinks so after that super bowl wuppin'.

Well, honestly, nobody knows how this is going to go this is the ultimate reality TV show crazy things happen around the NFL with injuries and things tend to even out teams that people thought were going to be good end up not so good teams that were supposed to be bad just somehow come out of nowhere and are better than expected some of its luck with the injuries. So I honestly don't know how this season's going to go that's part of the draw of watching this season people may not be happy about the Cowboys the last 30 years but I don't care about that I care about every year as a stand alone year it's a new year....and we'll get to see how it works out.....

You have the Ravens who have a great coaching staff allegedly an MVP quarterback they've had a great team concept defense everybody plays well they got to the championship game two years ago when they added Derrick Henry they thought that's it that's taken to the Super bowl they didn't even make it back to the championship game that's how it goes same thing happened with San Francisco these are teams that are adding players you think the Cowboys should add we all hope that occasionally they would add some players like this and free agency but what did all that for San Francisco do but get them to the same place but they still didn't win the Super bowl that was their goal and now they're cutting players like they have diseases it's like they're gonna have to start over over there and never ultimately got to their goal they brought Christian McCaffrey over there 19,000,000 everybody is thinking that he should be the missing piece and he was not and then father time and the salary cap have caught up to them...

Just by looking at people's offseason here's my point that means nothing there are no paper champions and just because the team looked good last year or bad doesn't mean it's going to look the same way this year you can't really get a feel for how things are going to go...

The coach is bad, the o-line is bad. the pass rush only has Micah, and most of all. The QB is really bad. So no.

Arch Manning is the real deal! Even though I'm not a fan of Texas, this program showed how classy it is by allowing Ewers to remain as their QB since he was their starter before Manning arrived. Manning could have easily created a major FIRESTORM by whining and crying about not starting, but he also showed that he's a class act himself. If the Boys want to repeat the early 90s they need Manning as their QB.................
