A public service message from the font of supreme gridiron knowledge and truisms in the American spirit of elbowing your way through. High humility and possible rain in beautiful and urbane Farmers Branch

Though it is a misnomer to say nonexistent pass rush because I keep seeing our DE's heavily involved with a blocker to each side of the opposing QB.

Now, for those of you out there who have access to a TV and a video player or DVR, check out some game film of our pass rush.

You'll see lots of activity by our DEs. They is heavily involved in a pincer type route to the QB.

But notice that the QB is not having to step into the pocket. Opposing QBs seem to be able to safely stay behind the pocket and chance that their O linemen keep the DEs at bay just to each side.

They are avoiding the push up the middle. Ya think?

Thoughts?

My keen powers of observation came through reading lots of big books and being naturally observant.

Below is the move I taught Emmitt before he got all Fosse and big headed.

Sometimes I see Ware rush, but not all out. When I saw the Indy game and Freeney going after the passer, the guy flat out goes after the QB and let the LBrs and tackles worry about the run. May not be a bad idea, especially if we go into a 4-3.
