Why they don't work seem to be lot due to our MLBs. I thought maybe I was wrong, but this past game, I saw Bradie James, come on blitz and as soon as he met the lineman, he just stopped pretty much. He didn't try to get through or push the lineman back.

I think Bradie James really mailed it after he go the money maybe. Now we know for sure, who Newman was talking about. I guess in draft it will LB heavy draft possibly again. Ugh!

Makes me question the motivation for BP trying to work Bobby Carpenter into the ILB rotation rather than OLB. Ellis was obviously doing much better than expected at OLB and maybe BP saw that James still wasn't grasping it and was hoping Carp might be the answer?

Yeah.. totally guessing on that but it was just a thought.

By the way, there have been several plays over the last 2 seasons where I felt like Bradie James was way out of position or looked totally confused on a play. The Shockey TD in the Giants game 1 last season was a prime example... and Roy got the full blame for that TD. The Matt Schobel TD against Philly game 2 this season... Bradie seemed out of position in his zone coverage and it left a gap between him and Roy for Shobel to get the ball and score.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I am sure everyone can remember him having a free shot on Eli Manning in the second Giants game and he completely blew an easy trap and Manning just stepped to one side and tossed a touchdown.

It's hilarious that we all felt so good about our LB depth and now we are looking for answers.

So many people shut their ears to Bradie James criticism after last year, and now they're just shocked... and why? Because they didn't listen.

James had a damn good season last year, but c'mon... can anybody honestly tell me that after watching him blow assignment after assignment and even patenting his own look of confusion in coverage, that you were completely satisfied with him? I knew it was too good to be true, I just knew it.

He's a good linebacker, and I doubt he'll ever be as bad as he was two years ago. But I haven't forgotten those days, and he used to be bad. All of that awkwardness will never leave him. He'll always have some.

Didn't he miss Kitna also? Or was that carp?

That was Carpenter. But I can understand the confusion.

They both did the same weird thing with their bodies once they realized they had a free shot.

lol...you can say that again.

i jumped out of my seat in the stadium last week when carpenter shot the gap and had a big sack.....

woops...I mean we cant expect that much from one of our linebackers not named ware.

That is a sack that dat would have made. That would have been a huge play.

He made up for it though by promptly dropping an interception a few plays later! He wanted to join the dropped interception club that included roy williams and anthony henry!

pretty much, Bradie James has been the most vocal talking about putting up or shutting up for the past 3 weeks now

I personally would like to see James on the bench.

Move Carp to inside alongside Akin.

Ware outside... then Ellis or THOMAS or Woodley from Michigan on the other side.

I dont think we can bench him at this point...next year though that could be a different story.

I personally would like to see carp and burnett on the field at the same time. Add some speed to the size we have up front.

I think burnett would be a good player in a normal rotation, its a shame a second round pick is used as a spare part nickel linebacker. I think at some point we will find out he is better than that.

If we get a new coach and all that stuff and switch to a 4-3 then I would like to see carp on the strong side and burnett on the weak side. No idea who would play the middle, maybe burnett could handle that.

I agree.

Who are we going to start in his place?

Fowler?

He's having the same problems in goalline situations.

It is just too late to do anything about it.

Carpenter isn't an option because we can't afford to let Singleton be out there all of the time either.

As sad as it sounds, our defensive fortunes rest on the pointed head of Bradie James.

Yeah not this year.

Too late to make a change like that but I am hoping to see James as a backup next season.

Akin played inside in JAX and wasnt Carps natural position inside?

So those 2 inside, ware outside, and then 1 of the 3 I named ealier.

I think carpenter is destined to be a sam linebacker in a 4-3

I think ayodele played the strong side for jacksonville, not inside.

I dont think we have a real inside backer for a 4-3 right now. that is a scary thought to me.
