Its painfully obvious how bad this team is.

Not only was the talent so much better on those cowboy teams (obviously) but they played with intensity, with purpose. They never gave up, even with the game in the bag, the Jimster still went for the throat.

I hate this team.

Never again will we see a team like that in our lifetime, my friend. Not just in Dallas but the entire NFL- the league is very watered down. That 49er team that we destroyed in that game could have whipped the dog out of any of the last 7 or 8 SB champs on a bad day.

I hate this league.

Yes we're nowhere near what may have been the best Cowboy team ever. How observant of you.

The point of the observation which has obviously escaped your not yet fully developed mind was the fact that this team doesnt have nearly the same ambition and drive as those Jimmy Johnson teams. Its a given they were more talented.

but thinks for playing.

Did I use the word talent? And whose mind are you calling not fully developed? I guess my "not fully developed mind" fails to realize that Ad hominem arguments are a real effective way of getting your point across. When you use the word obvious in an an argument it might be the first clue that your argument might need some work.

Ambition and drive? How can you measure such a thing? Maybe it appeared that way because the Cowboys were the best team in football.

You want to compare the 93 Cowboys, one of the greatest teams of all time and better by far than any Super Bowl Champion in the Salary Cap era to this current bunch? Well, that's gonna be a flawed comparison. In order to compete for Super Bowls in this era doesn't require the same level of ability to put teams away, which you interpreted as ambition and drive to contend for championships.

You may not see a team like that again, but look at the teams in the playoffs now and you will see some teams playing with passion, ambition and with a killer instinct. If you saw the Patriots game today you know what I am talking about.

if the 92-93-94-95 Cowboys played in the league today, the only way we'd lose a game is due to injury

they were that good, and THIS league is that bad...they'd be 16-0 every yr

If we didn't play with passion and ambition yesterday, then we would have been blown out of the water.

Playing with passion and ambition does not guarantee victory.

That team had crazy depth on defense.
Casillas, Haley ,Hennings, Jeffcoat, Jimmie Jones, Leon Lett, Russell Maryland and Tony Tolbert all on the defensive line. Eight deep, all quality players

This team lost it's passion and ambition at the beggining of Dec. Remember the blowouts against NO, Philly and Detroit.

We played a 9-7 team with as many more problems than us. They had guys in their secondary who were writing home loans last week, and they effectively shut down our superstar recievers.

Seattle at full strength would have blown us out of the water. Remember, we are the healthiest team in the NFL right now.

I guess we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Teams that lose their passion don't react to the botched snap the way they did.

which is what, giving up a 20 yard run on first down, costing us at least 25-30 seconds?

I love my Cowboys, always have and always will. But I'm also a realist.

Billyball in the fourth quarter set the stage for this catastrophe...gutless playcalling IMO...up 17-13 with first down on the 19 yard line and Parcells plays to lose, end of story...I don't buy the fire Zimmer angle either...If Zimmer was so bad, both he and Jones could've thrown him out two years ago...in fact, they both wanted him to stay, despite having no experience with the 3-4 alignment...in the end, the arrow points to Parcells...it is his mandate in force...his fingerprints are all over this mess...

Play the apologist if you want but hard changes will need to be made in the off season...if that means Parcells goes than so be it...the sooner the facade of denial is eradicated the better...

Everyone is under the assumption that Parcells is the only person with the nuts and bolts to lead a team...this is a misconception...this whole drama is evolving into something akin to a bad relationship...staying in it for fear of the unknown...

No man, it appeared that way because it was that way. The way guys finished blocks, the reaction of our QB when we blew a blocking assingment or moved before the snap. Those guys demanded so much more from themselves than this current team.

Jimmy had a way about him on the sideline that demanded that. That team also had unquestioned leaders on the field. Aikman, Irvin, Haley.... Who's our emotional leader on the field?

<crickets>

Parcells rarely even gets fired up on the sideline. Its like he's scared he's going to go into cardiac arrest if he shows any fire.

Its sad.
