After Mass Talent Exodus, ESPN Now laying off 300

They need to can Berman and Jackson, and quite a few others....

I used to like them when they did the highlights and now I just can't stand it.

It feels archaic watching them.

It's like the Cowboys offensive scheme but in NFL highlight form.

This is a direct result of cord cutting - and it was cited as the reason in another article I've read. I doubt the "drama" stuff is impacting them as this is what America gobbles up in bunches every day. America loves drama. ESPN doesn't like cord cutters.

Turning into fox/tmz type agenda pushing will see your rating drop.

I don't mind the daytime stuff on ESPN 2 that mixes pop culture.

The 30 for 30's are good.

Sportscenter has gotten a bit annoying but it's still easily the best way to catch up on what happened in sports for the day.

Where they are screwing up is with these shows like SVP Sportscenter and Keith Olberman talk shows.

Yawn yawn yawn.

I think the only good thing that comes out of BSPN is the 30 for 30

But my point is they do push agendas and that turns viewers off, because they go for the shock and awe reporting

The 30 for 30's, E:60 and some of the outside the lines stuff is good. The highly questionable show is entertaining as well. Other than that, I avoid them.

From start up on through early to mid 90's they were great.
Even when ESPN2 startup that was intended at the time be more strictly quick news and score updates.

Then they started to get more hate and drama oriented, starting with all the Cowbys related stuff going on. Especially with Irvin. They went overboard and started having agenda driven type stuff. As it probably increased their ratings. So they continued moth that, and only got worse and went downhill from there.

Now Berman and Jackson just remind me of cartoon characters. Other stuff I can watch, or watch to a degree, but not them, or not as much. But am quick to change the channel.

yup, their live sports programming is all that matters to me as well.
i am ahead of sportscenter via twitter.

and i'll hit the espn website if i want quick scores, not watch an hour long loop.

they lay off's are a cop out tho and typical big business buffoonery.
they can respond like many other content providers and get deals in place with netflix and/or through their own apps.

delivering live sports better than anyone else should be their main focus.

Disney is in a money crunch. The many billions off their Marvel movies alone doesn't cut it. And we know the new Star Wars movie will only make around $2 bill or maybe more worldwide. Times are tough.

I have a friend who got shown the door with oberman. not surprising.... new guard is being introduced, at a lower cost.

... The Fall Guy and Keyshaun too. They all suck. And for the love of Pete, Ryan Carillo and that former FSU QB, can't remember his name, replaced Scott Van Pelt... pure crap.

 WWE blows. They should all give their money back to the manipulated, toothless, 5th grade educated crowd.

It was pretty cool when I was a kid. Then my balls dropped and I grew up.

You know Fletch, that was pretty disrespectful and insulting to the crowd that still watches.

I didn't even know Scott Van Pelt was gone. I never watch ESPN these days. If I need a sports score update, that's what Google Now is for!
