Getting a way to have explosive plays offensively on a consistent basis and limiting them defensively. No DT or TE outside of Gronk will change that.

Sounds simple but the run game these days is mostly situational football (RED ZONE!). As Sunday proved, lining up in 22 personnel and getting 5 yards per carry will only get you so far. Like in a baseball pitchers duel one mistake given up for a home run can be catastrophic if you can’t hit back. Right now this offense doesn’t make enough big plays to hit back.

The last 8 years with Romo we always were in top of league making 20+ yard plays but like GB games in 2013 and 2014 showed we couldn’t limit them defensively. Now that the defense is limiting them defensively the offense has crashed.

Zeke isn’t a homerun threat 5 times per game. The scheme even though it’s from the Mike Martz system hasn’t been producing it either which is why it relies on Dak.

You can’t convince me Chris Hogan or Laurent Robinson or any number of Saints receivers are better than Dez or even T Will but Romo, Brees and Brady have made them look like all pros. It shows with a great QB he makes the talent around him better than they are.

LOL So another Dak thread ........just w/o his name

If you know of a way to get explosive plays without the QB I’m all ears. Perhaps draft a version of Alvin Kamara.

Ridiculous dude....

These folks are trippin with the Dak hatred. Perhaps we need a Dak Hate Zone..........

2 years on our roster man. 2 years... & some of us want to toss him out with the bath water. Its really sad that a portion of our population doesn't possess the ability to truly appreciate what it takes for someone to achieve at the NFL level.

OROY was just a fluke I guess...
13-3 was just pure and unadulterated luck I guess...

If he gets traded, I wouldn't get mad because we wouldn't have to hear the nonstop crying. But then again, when the new qb looks exactly the same under Garrett, it'll fire back up again. These young guys would be smart to get out of here once their contract is up. It really sickens me how many careers have been ruined just because Jerry Jones has an infatuation with Jason Garrett. Sean Lee will never get a ring here, Jason Witten will not get a ring. Dan Bailey won't get a ring. Tony Romo never got a ring. I mean we've had some hall of fame/record-breaking guys here and could only turn that into what, 2 playoff wins in the past decade?

Not about Dak. This is the system as a whole. There’s no explosive plays which even Troy said Sunday is key to being able to have points on the board. Perhaps they need to have a scheme change or find a 3rd WR that does all the things we’re missing.

Bottom line is other teams are doing more with less so how does this team get back to leading the league in explosive plays.

If anything, what we really need is a new head coach, but since that's not coming, we need an OC whose gameplan is more than 'outrun the guy covering you'.

Really... Ok. It sure does sound like some low key Dak shade..

But who am I? Have fun figuring things out man...

Didnt Rg3 win ROY? So yea, it couldve been a fluke, but we'll find out for sure next season

Wrong. He is a home run threat every play of the game. The drop off in our offensive production without Zeke was not a coincidence. Defenses worry every snap that Zeke may get the ball. Is he going to hit s HR 5 times a game? Of course not. No one is or ever could. But he is home run threat every play he is in the game. And this changes defenses and opens play action.

Our personnel and offensive scheme are too 1992 in a league of spread offenses,
. Todd Gurlet went from historically bad last year to MVP candidate and hit home runs now due to Mcveys spread offense. You can’t have our offensive scheme and our personnel and expect Rams level big play ability.

It’s not about Dak. Take Goff or Wentz out of the spread offense and put them in our system and you will see similar or worse production. These teams put pressure on the defenses with speed and personnel mismatches. Having 5 receiving targets with quick slants and crossing routes has shown to lead to breakdowns on defense and big plays. You don’t see these teams line up every first down in a big formation with 2 WRS and 2 TEs.

Dak didn't do it this year

the whole offensive system needs to be modernized. Zeke is a home run threat but right now THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE. THAT is the problem.

Tony made both Laurent Robinson and Miles Austin. Can Dak do the same? Those slavishly defending him need to confront that question. I happen to think he can but with the albatross of JG and Jerry and company its not likely.

The thing is, Tony wasn't doing anything in year 2 so Dak is already ahead of him. Whether he can grow as Tony did remains to be seen.

We have people comparing year 2 Dak with year 8 Tony and expecting similar results. It's unrealistic.

Don't say that too loudly in here. Some heads will explode.

Not if some of our fellow fans have their way. Just flush Dak now...

Well you won't have to worry about that. If many had their way we would've hired a GM over 20 years ago and quality HC. Doubtful we would've had 5 coaches during that time and far more playoff appearances and wins.

So what fellow fans want is irrelevant. Dak will start next year with no new competition.

I am not going to shy away from it. I would absolutely bring in a top notch QB for next year, either in the Draft or FA. I would not in any shape, form or fashion say today that Dak is the starter for next year. He was really good, borderline great his first year. He was really bad, borderline horrific, his second year. He showed over and over, he can't perform under pressure (not rushing pressure but pressure to be the guy). When asked to step up, he stepped out, played some of the worst football I have ever seen at this level. It was laughable watching him trying to complete 5 yard passes, and anything over 10 yards, just forget about it. He is mentally weak. I think he can be a game manager at best. As long as everything else is working, he will be good. As he proved, when things aren't working out and he is asked to go win games, he balls up in a fetal position.
