Quincy played fairly well in 2003.

Not really. Not a whole lot better than Vinny did the following year. He just had a defense that overachieved and carried him.

When it comes to Dallas playing the Eagles or Skins, expect the unexpected.Go look at some of the crazy plays that have taken place in years past.Bottom line is don't overlook either of those teams even if they were a combined 0-20.

Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. I only count out Washington at this point. The other two, especially philly? Naw, this conference is never that easy to understand.

After the Eagles drilled Dallas to close out the season last year I can't understand why anyone would instantly think we could just walk in a beat them handily. We will find out in a few weeks just where we stand with that team and I hope the OP is correct when the game is actually played.

I'm not sure Jason Campbell is as good as Quincy was. Seriously. He has absolutely no pocket awareness. At least Quincy could escape pressure pretty well.

True. And yet he beat us last year. Looked like a seasoned vet. Pist me off.

I never want to count Philly out until they're really out of it ala 2005.

Yeah they stick around or come back just to be annoying.
Its uncanny.

The Eagles always tank in the middle of the season, but are there contending at the end. I wouldn't write them off. Todd Collins will be starting for the Commanders soon and who knows what will happen. Too early to tell. Let's reassess after Thanxgiving.

Todd Collins showed me something a few years ago when he started that playoff game. He was money. The team blew chunks. He will give them a chance, maybe not win, but a chance nonetheless.

I absolutely agree. Quincy also led his team to a playoff appearance ... has Campbell done that? Didn't Collins do all the work that year, or has Campbell done it and I'm forgetting?

Also, as for Washington having the worst offense of the modern era, you obviously haven't seen General Russell leading the Oakland Raiders back into the stone age. :)

And, yes, the Eagles look highly vulnerable right now. Good speed and quick-strike ability on offense, but an inconsistent bunch that doesn't know what it wants to be. I can only hope they continue mucking around with the wild cat and Vick packages -- and, in turn, giving McNabb one third-and-long after another to work through. Neither Vick nor their wildcat packages are striking fear in anyone.

Speaking of the wildcat, I will completely lose it if I see Romo lined up as a WR ever again. What a wasted play that was.

but you would think being the home team and with all the controversy going on they would want to get the ball first to jump on the eagles early. But no one in washington seems to have that kind of thought process.

I assume they have more confidence in their defense they were hoping to get an early stop to keep the crowd in the game and hopefget good field position for their offense. If they went three and out on offense, the crowd would have gotten real ugly to start the game.

"It amazes me that they (owner Dan Snyder and GM Vinny Cerrato) thought that he would be able to successfully implement his system in such a short amount of time," said an NFC personnel director. "He inherited a team that was built to play a power running style under Joe Gibbs, and the team didn't make major personnel moves to adapt to the West Coast offense. Without the proper personnel, no system is able to work effectively, and the Commanders are finding that out." ---anonymous

I disagree with the 3 TD part of your argument.

The Cowboys played a very good game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Eagles and Giants are just in a funk, just like the Cowboys were in a funk for a while.

Both teams are very capable of getting out of their slump and beating anyone in the league.

I believe each game in the Division will be tough, even the games against the Commanders.

Great great post

In Divisional games talent does not always matter.

Especially in the NFC BEAST.

I don't care how either team looks I'm not sleeping on them when they play Dallas. They always give us their best effort no matter how bad they are.

And I never kick dirt on the Eagles until they are officially, totally, completely, out of it. To do it before that, even if the heartbeat on their season is so small it defies logic that they'll survive, I won't count them out.
