Agree or Disagree: Next week @ Giants is the BIGGEST game of the season

A win can:

  • Puts us back in first place in the NFC East, even if the Giants win this Sunday.
  • We will be 4-1 in the NFC East and heavy favorites to win the division.
  • We hold the tiebreaker against the Giants who look to be our biggest competition in the NFC East.
  • We win a game against a tough opponent. Couldn't win against the Seahawks or Broncos. Need another win against one of the elite teams late in the season.
  • Maybe a possible prediction of next year. The Cowboys have a young team, but so do the Giants. Could predict next year's NFC East winner.

Thanksgiving's game broke our hearts, but the sky doesn't start falling until we lose the Giants game.

I couldn't agree more. If we beat the Giants then we are in the drivers seat in the NFC East with tie breakers over Giants. I honestly feel that we can win out the rest of the season if we can just avoid the costly mistakes in the close games. And I feel that we can compete in the playoffs with any team in the NFC. We simply have to keep it together and continue to play as well as we did against the Broncos (I thought we played very well against them) and not allow that loss to throw us into a tail spin.

I agree up to that date. But a couple weeks later will be an even bigger game, IMO, against the Panthers.

I agree. What worries me is that we will be coming off a longer break than normal, and last time we did that (bye week) we really looked flat, especially offensively. I hope the loss to Denver hurts enough to keep everyone focused for the NYG game.

The Panthers will be a big game but not as big as the Giants IMO. When we beat the Giants we have the tie breaker and it should bring us back even with them record wise. Also, since I believe that the Giants will lose at least one more besides the one to us we could even afford the loss to the Panthers (assuming that was our only other loss) and still win the division. Right now at this stage of the season winning the NFC East is first priority; playoff seeding is secondary. Hopefully next year we will be almost taking the Division for granted and playing more for home field advantage.

I'll say it is the biggest until that last game of the season where a win or a loss could mean hosting a playoff game or being a visitor.

Biggest so far? Yeah okay. Biggest of all of them? Yet to be determined.

Well when you get right down to it as close as the race for the NFC East is the biggest game of the season is the one immediately to follow and will remain so for the rest of the year. At the end of the year the one game that will be looked back upon as the biggest game will be any that we lose.

We'll be even with the Giants record-wise going IN to the game Jack.

Every game is big, even the game against the Commanders. I think home field advantage will come down to the last game of the season.

It sure is. I'm looking forward to next Sunday. The biggest game this weekend is on Monday night where the Steelers will come back to earth, that is right I said Steelers. And if we win next Sunday we control our destiny we would have to rely on our team to win out and get a first round bye.

Considering this was not our year, this game agaisnt the giants will be a good test and challenge for us, but wont break our season. I am still in the wait till next year for our year and if we can take advantage of the weak NFC and make the playoff and even win a game or two, that will be valuable experience for the rooks and serve as a springboard into the offensive Offseason we will have into our year to make noise in the NFC.

Its a big game and with a win, we will enhance our chances greatly of taking advantage of that weak NFC. But anythin we do this year is gravy and we are stealing a playoff spot, NFC east championship and NFC champions and maybe even the NFL champions. But I never expected to go deep or be considered serious contenders this year. The fact we are and are only half built is a testement to the players we have now. Its all gravy.

All of our remaining games are the most IMPORTANT game! The Giants are definitely important but which one of our remaining games isn't? We need at least 3 wins of the remaining 5 or maybe even 4. Damn, the next couple of months are getting me really excited! It takes me back to the good old days when we were always in the hunt! :)
