just wanted to point these stats out cause I noticed everyone hopped on the Ahmad Black bandwagon.

110 Tackles, 11 TFL, 1.5 Sack, 5 INT, 3 Forced Fumbles, 3 Fumbles Recovered, 4 PBU, and a touchdown.

That is INSANE from the FS position.:omg: :omg: :omg: :omg:

Absolutely Agree 100%. He might not even make the 2nd round.

His only con is that he is so short thats the reason why scouts and experts project him to go into the late 2 early 3.

I don't care about his size if he can play. Wouldn't mind him, especially if he works out well.

He's a little smaller than Cleveland Safety TJ Ward who went early 2nd round last year and had an excellent rookie season.

If we don't address the secondary in the 1st round, I would love to take him in the 2nd.

He's not bad....for a midget.
He is short(about 5'8") but not small. I believe 190 lbs. About like Bob Sanders. Good tackler and good ball skills. Boy would we like a safety that can catch and tackle!!

Do any of you remember Thomas Everett. He was a baller for us on one of our Super Bowl Championship teams. He weighted less than A. Black(Height: 5-9 Weight: 185). I believe A. Black will do this fine for us at safety.

He's not 5'8", he's about 5'11". All he does is make plays plus he's a great leader. If he's there in round 2 you take him, plug him into the secondary for the next 12 years, and never look back.

Where'd you get that? The Florida Gator sports website lists him at 5'9" and schools tend to exaggerate their players' measurements.

He was on the 92 and 93 teams, we traded for him from the Stealers.

He was a good player for sure. Wasnt big, but he had speed and hit like a ton of bricks.

He's a lot smaller than TJ Ward who is 5-10 211 lbs. Ahmad Black is listed at 5'9" 190 lbs, both measurements I have to see cofirmed at the combine.

Reminds me of former Golden Gopher, Tyrone Carter, more than anyone.

Thank you.

The Florida sports info department isn't going to short him on height, if anything they probably gave him an extra inch or two.

He'll be a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better pro then Tyrone Carter. If they weren't the same size people wouldn't even mention them in the same sentence.

Tyrone Carter was actually very highly-rated coming out of Minnesota. In fact, he won the Thorpe award.

I know, lol. Thats why I said pro :p:

BTW is it true he had over 600 tackles in his collegiate career? Thats absolutely insane. Especially for a guy that size.

I think he'll be fine at his size, especially if the team that drafts him (cough...........DALLAS............cough) uses him as a FS because of his instincts and dynamic range. He's everything you want at FS - a guy with CB-type coverage skills that can actually tackle. Remember, Bob Sanders is only 5'8" and, had he just been used as a FS, he probably would have less wear-and-tear on him.
