AHMAD BROOKS MEASURABLES Height: 6-4 Weight: 249 40-yard dash: 4.90 Overall grade: 8.1

ILB, Virginia

News
Brooks, a junior, announced Jan. 14 that he will return to Virginia for his senior season, ending speculation that he enter the '06 draft.
As a sophomore in 2004, Brooks earned All-America honors and was one of three finalists for the Butkus Award, presented to the nation's top linebacker.
Brooks underwent knee surgery last March, which kept him out of the first three games of the 2005 campaign. Upon his return, ankle and back injuries limited his playing time to just six games during the remainder of the season. He did not play in Virginia's 34-31 Music City Bowl win against Minnesota. "I came to Virginia to earn my degree and help Virginia become a great team," Brooks said. "I still have a lot of unfinished business to meet my goals. When I do walk into a NFL locker room, I want to do it with my degree."

You and me both. Now I'm looking Bobby Carpenter or Thomas Howard. I prefer Carpenter because I think he's more complete for the SOLB spot.
