AI 2027: A Realistic Scenario of AI Takeover
I remember that movie; had a bunch of plot holes in it as regards stopping Colossus.Checkout the movie, Colossus: The Forbin Project made in 1970. Apparently way ahead of its time.
But in all seriousness. why do we ascribe malevolent intent to AI, or space aliens for that matter?
And what happened to the 3 laws of robotics? LOL.
looking at the changes wrought so far by tech, I think it is a techie;s fantasy to think they are that important. People adjust. We still have the greatest and most powerful thinking machine there is; I do not see AI surpassing it.AI/Quantum Computing/Robotics and who knows what else is out there will change humanity forever.
8.1 billion plus humans alive today? How many of those are even semi prepared consciously for what's coming?
These new changes don't strike me as something that will require greater understanding of new gadgets, but rather greater use of one's own mind.
I think there's a lot of people who will be unwilling to change with the times, and some people in other countries just won't know how to even try.
New age is coming, could say it's already here.
You’ve never heard of batteries?meh. It would not be that difficult to shut down servers. Control access. In the end, simply pull the plug.
Viruses and other threats could be unleashed on rogue AI's
The so called scenario is laughable because bottom line is that AI's will always be poor copies of the human brain and thus never able to truly take over. not to mention their basic vulnerability to the simple act of pulling the plug and turning off the power.
you never heard of kill switch? You’ve never heard of batteries?![]()
Yeah, I think about this all the time, especially with how fast automation is advancing. These days, most stores have self-checkout lanes, and you barely see cashiers anymore. Production lines are increasingly automated too. And you're seeing more and more of it. Hell, you're even seeing companies pushing for self-driving cars and drone deliveries. At some point, all of this is going to catch up to our economy and seriously affect how people make a living. While nihilistic destruction is a distinct possibility, the more likely scenario is the severe impact on people’s livelihoods and ability to earn money.
