I like the way he does his rankings. A culmination of numerous stats instead of just basing a ranking on yards made and given up.

Thanks for the post !

Looking at the combined rankings the following teams came in under 20:
Seattle 17
Indy 7
San Diego 17
Atlanta 19
Carolina 12
Pittsburgh 14
Giants 18
Bengals 17
Dallas 17

Those teams are all pretty balanced and pretty good.

Isn't it funny that a team like Atlanta(with a glorified running back at qb) is in this mix. Also, neither E. Manning or big Ben throw very many passes. I guess it just goes to show that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

And people blame all our problems on offense...

The Iggles real problem is that Reid wants to throw 80% of the time, which creates an imbalance in your offense(one-dimensional) and further exposes your defense because they spend so much time on the field. When Reid figures out that you need a featured back instead of a third down back, your offense and defense will be much better. No insult meant to Westbrook. I like his skills a lot. I just think he needs help from another back. I was actually hoping Dallas would draft him in 2002 to help out E. Smith, but leave it to Jerry to screw things up.

Detroit at number 3 defensively is pretty surprising

They've played Chicago twice, Green Bay, Baltimore, Tampa and Cleveland... in other words some less than stellar offenses. And Chicago scored 38 pts on them. The only team they've played that I'd consider a good offensive team is Carolina. I guess their D did a pretty good job in that game, they held Carolina to 21 pts... but they aren't nearly as good as we are. I don't think the Aikman's take into consideration the quality of the opposition, so in that way it's still flawed. It's better than just about any other ranking though IMO.
