AJ Brown says the Eagles need to worry about the Cowboys trading for George Pickens

Well, it is hard to ignore the fact that Dallas has two quality receivers for the first time in a long time. Gallup was pretty good. So was Cooks, but they were not of the same caliber as Pickens.

If the OL can block and give Dak some time, I think Lamb and Pickens could cause some serious problems for defenses. But the Cowboys need a running game too.
Look I'm happy they did this but y'all exaggerating y'all act like it was like decades ago when I'm Maury Cooper was here and we had nearly three 1000 yard receivers..

This is probably the deepest it's been since they had Cooper Lamb Gallup and Cedric Wilson... It's very similar to that but that wasn't that long ago..3 seasons ago.. It's like everyone saying that it's been forever since we had a really good run game or a great runner and that's also not true these are recent events that they're trying to reset the positions and yes it should be beneficial...

Meanwhile, he's probably rubbing his hands together at the prospect of facing Kaiir Elam.
That's what a lot of people said about their two budget players that came on and end up now getting new contracts with them you do realize they did that last season right during the Super Bowl they got 2 unproven rookie cbs with slay(cowboys used to torch him alot) and a linebacker that were pretty much the same type of players Jerry would go pick up and they were far better than the $17 million free agent they brought in..

So we don't know first of all what our corner group is going to be for sure on Bland is going to be there rebel probably will start the season healthy but he is a rookie... It is a position of concern but I believe Carson and Elam will definitely be fighting in training camp they'll they'll know in preseason and training camp who the starting 3 will be I'm not sure when digs will be back probably in October but it's not going to be all year..Butler Will also be in the mix to come back but they're going to use training camp to see who rises to the top I think Muk is still here as well...

And once again you don't know one of these days someone's going to come out of nowhere same thing with our 5th round pick in Bland who's still here people probably laughed at that.

But I invite you to go check the Eagles offseason last year and name the corner and linebacker who no one saw coming up to that point Zach Baughn looked like a total spare part looked like a Pro Bowl or after the season ended...

Well I'm not sure who the starting corners and the depth will be but they're not leaving Elam out there on an island he's going to have to earn the position just like everybody else in training camp..

Let's not gloss over the fact that the Eagles lost Kellen Moore but here's the other players they lost most of them which are on defense...

Several notable players left the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, including defensive tackle Milton Williams, defensive end Josh Sweat, and cornerback Darius Slay Jr. and Cj Gardner,

Other players who departed include Mekhi Becton, Isaiah Rodgers, Oren Burks, and Kenneth Gainwell. Additionally, Brandon Graham retired after 15 seasons.

There's some names on there that were pretty key players I mean we're not going to gloss over that they're also in game one of a transition...

The Eagles drafted their two young cornerbacks in the first and second rounds last year, with the second one considered a first-round prospect who fell, like Revel did for us this year. Elam is a failed first-rounder who the Bills traded for peanuts. Not sure he's even comparable to Baun, but we're crossing our fingers and hoping he's better here than he was in Buffalo.

I miss the days when every team in our division was a threat.
I remember the days when the eagles were irrelevant and had never won anything. But, oh how the tables have turned. Now the Cowboys are afraid of them! Who is responsible for that happening?

I've said elsewhere that the Eagles may take a step back with all of the changes, but that doesn't change the fact that we may be playing Elam because we have to. Diggs will likely be out, Revel may and Butler too. Our choices beyond Elam may be players who didn't step up last season or undrafted rookies. Even if Revel is ready, we'll still need a third corner from that group. Our best option may be to play someone like Thomas in the slot.

It was 2018 when we picked up a true baller outside of the draft and waiting every 6 to 7 years to do that is management malpractice.

I believe you have me on ignore because you only want opinions that align with yours to be viewed.

I have Nobody on ignore

Fans on Reddit from various teams are talking about how we're going to be tough to deal with because of Pickens' and our draft.

Even more, some of the free agents and other trades aren't getting the praise they deserve. That'll have to come after it shows up on the field.

First of all, Zach Baugn was horrible in his first three seasons here is a reason they picked him up he looked like Jalen Smith or worse did you see this guys first three years in the league did you look at his stat line I don't even know how they even knew his name...

Did that point just roll over your head that they went and got a budget linebacker that turned out to be really good Sanborn's numbers his first two seasons actually his first three seasons comparatively to Bond's first street he looks like a pro bowler compared to Baugn...

But that does go for guys like Elam I mean you picked up Butler last year did anybody really know who he was you trying to tell me that people had high hopes for terpen Butler and Aubrey before they got here most people would not have...

There is going to be some of these free agents they brought in this year that are going to surprise some people the pretty solid group of linebackers in my opinion that all have a shot to be the next Zach Baugn the next surprise to resurrect their careers...

Literally Sanborn had a better start to his career literally is on the map compared to Baugn,

that's the point here they were not purposeful in their hopes for this linebacker to be any good and he had a Pro Bowl season that's my point that's the way a lot of our players talk about our budget players but Kendrick's last year played great as a matter of fact he played almost up to that same standard I know it's hard to understand that I'm trying to make a point here that just because somebody was picked up for a legit bargain bin type trade or free agent pickup doesn't make them

ON their 2 Comers, YOUNG very YOUNG dbs,

You're trying to tell me that they won't have a sophomore slump, you think that they're going to have a great year end to end, and have no problems covering lamb and Pickens?

I mean you're giving people a lot of credit we've seen what happened to sauce gardener do you remember him seems like all the chatter has calmed down there which by the way I saw Tolbert just burn Mitchell I also saw our bad backup quarterback, you Miss Mingo also burned Quinon Mitchell but Rush threw bAd passes,

look you act like these two dudes are locked down future Hall of Famers, and maybe you're also a secret eagle fan you're slobbering over something that may or may not have happened last year against our backups?

I'm telling you they're not set they've lost a lot of players it doesn't matter what round you're taking in does that make Mozzy Smith the next Aaron Donald because he was taken in the first round?

Are we doing that again where a guy was drafted, I mean Daron Bland is as good as any of those two guys and he was picked in the 5th round.

Some of you with the whole overly focused on where guys are drafted or if they're undrafted or how might say we're paid as free agents is just insane it's out of control....

We've seen guys the likes of Tom Brady brought Purdy Terrell Davis Tony Romo Kurt Warner Deron Bland let's stay in the now who was picked in the 5th round these everybody is good as the Eagles corners...

Just because they were picked high isn't going to make them have a steady ascending career it doesn't mean they're not beatable.. I don't know what your point is but that doesn't mean Elam either is a bad pickup we could turn his career around he could be a pro bowler just like Zach Bond I mean you still don't want to hear some of these comps but how about we stick to this then ,

You remember we practically gave away Jimmy Smith what happened to his career yeah that's what I thought guys like that it happens a lot and I'll use something more current I mean we gave away Chadarius ward to Kansas City for peanuts he turned out to be a pro bowler... how do you know they gave up on Elam too soon nobody knows that but guys like Butler look pretty good free agents coming from the UFLI mean you keep overly focused on where the Cowboys have picked these players up but when other teams do it you seem to gloss over it...

That will be the fun part of this year is to watch training camp and preseason with a whole lot of? marks, new Players coming in, we get to see with the draft picks and the free agents do or don't do that's the fun part of waiting this entire arduously long offseason for football for a very short season so I prefer to take a look at it with my own eyes before I make a judgment....

or MUk or TBD but Carson is the obvious first option, Players can take a jump after their first season.

.... There's a lot of options on our team that you may have never heard of or never thought about and that's why they have training camp that is the exact reason preseason is here so these coaches can figure out the lineup..

when I say TBD I mean they can end up bringing in a guy like Gilmore or make a trade for Jalen Ramsey or a player like him there's going to be a lot of players that cut down and a lot of players at the end of the UFL season that will be available like we got Butler last year..
this is not over this is the fun part of the offseason we get to start seeing OTAS training camp and preseason we get to see them develop guys and somebody like their own blame is going to end up coming out of nowhere... This is the very early stages of roster building so everyone having anxiety right now makes no sense too me..

Baun was not horrible. He was primarily a special teams player in New Orleans. Rarely started at linebacker for the Saints. Philly’s special teams were an issue in 2023 and they were looking for help. I’m guessing they were more surprised than anyone over what the guy could do. He’s more a miracle than something teams should expect to happen.

No surprise the Saints turned over their coaching staff. The had him 4 years and never identified his potential. He was a solid special teamer, though.
