Aj Green And Julio Jones vertical

I knew Jones had very good speed, I take nothing away from him I think he has a bright future ahead of him in the NFL. After watching both Jones and Green I just feel that Green is the more polished WR.

Jones was the overall top high school kid coming out of his class. I knew he had the very best WR measurables. He is also probably the best overall WR blocker. But he doesn't play quite to his raw speed as you note. A guy that athletic takes a while to meet his proper body control at max speed....

Again, to me, that is why Dez rates a better prospect by far.

Green is very polished and catches everything it seems but is not a remarkable athlete imho just much bigger than most college corners. He is probably a good Sidney Rice clone at max which is hardly a slouch, but perhaps not what you want in a top 4 pick.

I think it's really hard to compare the two because they are such different types of receivers and will likely be utilized in different fashion in the pros.

I've been saying since last year that A.J. Green greatly reminds me of Charles Rogers (on the football field...); same build, athleticism, ability and skill-set.

I agree with you in thinking Green is the more polished receiver. I think he's one of these natural-born receivers if you can really say such a thing.

However, I think that's also going to be a set back early on in the NFL. You could tell by his body definition that this kid isn't a gym rat. He's going to have to get stronger to compete with press coverage in the pros.

But he couldn't get off the press from Patrick Peterson.

That's the one thing keeping him from being a top 4 selection.

Jones is better athlete than Green but Green has shown better body control and hands.

I wouldn't take a top WR myself this year. I think Jones is 3 years away from being a #1 WR and Green is an immediate starter but not a big-time playmaker.

Dez is a better version of both imho. As smooth as Green and almost as athletic as Jones.

The only question with Dez is attitude and consistency.

They had a lot of battles in 3 years against each other and they both won some. Julio had what was basically the game winning catch against Peterson in '08 in overtime. And Peterson won his share of their battles. They both have a lot of repsect for each other.
