It looks like he is making it to getting cutting at the end. I don't think he's as terrible as people think he is. I think the 49ers are as terrible at drafting as reality is. This kid should have been a 5th round draft, and expected there. If he doesn't make it here, he shouldn't be given up on the NFL.Find it weird of me, but I think this guy is going to end up making an impact later down the line somewhere in the NFL. A Laurent Robinson type. Y'all can rub it in my faces if he doesn't.

I expect he's a guy we can call if we have an injury. Still think we end up claiming someone for that 5th WR spot. Likely a guy who can handle returns

Lucy will be easy to beat out..lol!

Lucy is definitely not helping team chemistry.

I don't believe he is eligible for the practice squad?

I don't think he'll make it unless he has a big game Thursday. Right now, I believe Whitehead is ahead of him for that fifth spot because of his versatility. If Whitehead shows he can be trusted as the return man, he'll have even more of a leg up.

Jenkins has to be a playmaker in this game to get into the conversation.

I noticed him in the game early with the starters a couple time vs the Vikings.

Yes, I think he got rewarded for his improvements and then didn't do anything. Lucky can at least say he got open and caught a TD pass in that game.

I don't think he makes the final cut. I think he makes it on an NFL roster and makes an impact somewhere. I don't think he's done yet.

I could see him bouncing around NFL rosters because of potential, but I'm not sure about the impact.

You compared him to Laurent Robinson, but Robinson already had showed he could realize his potential with 37 catches for 437 yards as a rookie before injuries kind of derailed his development. Jenkins has virtually done nothing his three years in the league.

I think a better comparison might be Randall Williams. Williams was tall and fast, which allowed him to stick around the league for six seasons. However, he never really did much, other than returning an onside kick for a TD. He did get to start 10 games for Oakland when he converted to tight end and the Raiders lost their starter, but his career wasn't much to remember.

No, I really believe this kid is going to make an impact down the line. There is talent there. It's going to be tapped sooner or later.

As an Illini fan I root for him to catch on somewhere. He was way over drafted, but he was a great talent here at Illinois

It is possible that they could keep 6 to start the season. Street is currently injured which means they don't have a true backup at outside WR because Beasley and Whitehead are slot WRs.

They could just use Escobar is they want a big WR because they've been using him split out from the formation like a WR in recent practice reports.

Jenkins has 17 catches for 223 yards in 28 games over 3 years.

One report that I saw implied that despite being in the NFL for 3 years that he was having problems mentally with the routes/playbook when he got here.

Not completely far fetched. He never had a QB until now.
