I would only take Ayers if I thought he could play ILB...he's over 250, and a good cover guy...sounds like a jack of all trades, master of none.

I would not draft him for OLB, but maybe he'd be a future guy at ILB.

I'd prefer a CB/S combo like Williams of TExas or Gilcrist of Clemson.

Paea seems a bit light to play NT, but maybe they're comfortable with that notion. I wouldn't mind it at all if they took him.

If no DL player they like is avaialble at 40, and they don't trade, I hope they will consider a DB. They can get a NT (Ellis, perhaps) in rd. 3, and still move Rat to DE. Then go get a OG in the 4th rd.

Best Dbs are Ros-I-Dowling(made of glass),Brandon Harris(smallish) and Aaron Williams(slow). I am not sold on any of these.

I don't see a successor to Newman but I do see an upgrade over Scandrick so it might still might be of good use.

I'm cool with gambling w/Bowers too if he can make the transition to 3-4 DE.

OLB is NOT a need.

We have too many holes to take one in the 2nd round.

I think Paea could play NT or DE...he's a penetrator...he'd be a nice pick for us, and he slid because of the knee injury.

IMO, the Cowboys need another pass rusher. I think they should do whatever they can to find one. This draft is terrible in later rounds, so I'm not opposed to sacrificing a later pick to trade up a little in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Think of it this way...look at all the teams that wanted a 3-4 OLB. They all coveted Miller. Skins decided to convert Kerrigan from DE to OLB. No one saw Ayers as a good Pass rushing OLB...that's why he's on the board. He's a decent player; he excells in coverage; but he's really not excellent at anything, and he's a bit slow.

I think he should move inside with that size to ILB...if he's physical enough.

Don't get me wrong, I like him and would be thrilled with the pick.

He's a good football player. Good coaches can find a way to use him regardless of scheme.

Same with Bowers. The Cowboys will be in a pass rush mode most of the time anyway. If you can get Bowers, IMO, you do it and then find a way to use him.
