i'm very pleased thus far with akin.

he's been a great player for us..he was the best defensive player for us yesterday in my opinion.

He is really coming into his own. He is very athletic and has been an excellent pickup

i agree........can't remember the game, but he had this very acrobatic interception where he amazingly kept both hands under the ball.

does anyone remember what game that was a few weeks ago?

it was on Turkey Day

I'm impressed by the fact that he's taking on blocks really well, there were a couple of times yesterday where he defeated his block at the point of attack to take the runner down for virtually no gain, and one for a loss of 3, he's been coming on

Parcells said something to the effect that Akin plays better will less contact in practice while players like Canty and Spears suffer from not having physical practices. Its a dilema.

Akin was a beast yesterday. Its nice to finally see one of our inside LBers get into the backfield and put some pressure on the QB. It's too bad James couldn't get that pick...he would've owed that one to Ayodele.

funny we had a thread about AA before the game and I said I like what he doing but I wished he had more TFL... sure enough he breaks out a few v. the Gmen!!!

I think as he gets accustom to the D Parcells will unleash him!!!

ya know BP said that about practice, but i can't believe it's the contact. i would think it's more just getting comfortable in the defense

He is a Purdue boy and they have had pretty good success with tweener DEs. They have a great one this year in Anthony Spencer. Very strong player who spent the season being held and double teamed.

[Dbair]Akin is being held down by Zimmer's schemes. He could be a probowl player if it wasn't for Zimmer[/Dbair]

Don't know if it was Parcells, Ireland, the position coach or all the above, but whoever scouted and projected his fit into the a 3-4 as an ILB really deserves kudos. Dallas actually got Ayodele a little below value for what he's produced, which is rare in FA these days.
