I read earlier that both Witten and James can void their deals at the end of the year (and will) to become restricted free agents.

Can Al do the same?

In case you all forgot, I think these deals are voidable because we had to structure them in a certain way to fit Hutch's contract under out rookie cap.

He's signed through 2006. He has no voidable years in his contract.

I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about that.

The way he has played this year.....would he really want to do that?

Not that it matters but he would probably gamble on it.

His base salary for next year is $460,000 -- he'd have to be tendered a contract of $605,000 for us to keep the right to match any contract offer and 2nd round compensation from a team that signed him.

it would be less if we didn't want to keep the right for compensation -- but few teams go that route with young players.
