So as it stands, Bama, FSU and OSU are undefeated and #'s 1, 2 and 3. Bama plays Auburn Saturday, and the winner of that game plays in the SEC championship against likely Missouri or South Carolina. Would Auburn play in the national championship if they beat Bama, won the SEC and one of FSU or OSU lost? That would be interesting to see. What about if they same thing happened but it was Missouri winning the SEC with only one loss? I doubt they'd be in the national championship though. And what if Bama, FSU and OSU all win out? Will an OSU win over Michigan State allow them to jump past FSU?

No tOSU is not jumping FSU if all three teams win out and Winston is still not charged.

FSU, Florida and Texas are nationally known programs. Baylor is Baylor. Briles has that program at a high level right now, but you can't fight history.

Ratings don't lie.
The UT/Baylor game will be rated higher. And it won't be close.

Florida isn't even filling half their stadium lately.

And we are talking about this year, not what happens next year.

Florida and Florida State have solid fan bases.
But neither compare to the fan base of UT (because the average person in Texas follows UT).

There is a reason Texas is the richest sports program in the country and FSU was nearly bankrupt.

But beyond that the average fan wants to see quality football games. Texas/Baylor is a match up of legit Bowl teams while Florida is basically done and FSU is going to be a 2 or TD favorite.

I think it's a pretty safe assumption that if everyone wins out, we get 'Bama-FSU. The interesting thing is if Auburn somehow beats Alabama then wins the SEC the following week.... do they jump OSU? IMHO, they sure would deserve to.

it probably will. As will the ACC championship game. I never said more people would watch FSU/UF than Texas/Baylor. I said that if Baylor beat Okie St to remain undefeated, that FSU would have more people watch their remaining games than would watch Baylor's remaining games. That was in response to you saying more people would be interested in watching Baylor over FSU.

ahh so what you mean is you were wrong? LOL.

FSU games since our discussion have been viewed in largely low numbers.
The Florida game drew 2.32 but was only 7th highest of the games for the weekend. (the previous FSU game drew nothing)
Baylor/TCU drew for crap but largely because it was a 3 win TCU team and it was up against Bama/Auburn which drew over 8!!

OKST Baylor drew 2.0 up against prime time programming and won its time slot for all ages 18-49

Texas/Baylor will easily outrate the ACC Championship game between FSU/Duke and that is with Baylor having a loss now.

What I stated is absolutely true. As Auburn rather inelegantly proved. Win a big game with lots of eyeballs and you will move up. They did and have.
Any question as to if they had a loss or not whether they would have leapfrogged FSU?

What's clear is FSU is in the NCG if they don't lose to Duke and Winston stays out of jail. Not sure what happens if he goes to jail because human voters are fickle people.

FSU's easy schedule has been a gift but it could have been a curse. Thankfully the playoffs are coming.

Wrong about what? Since the Okie State game, which was the discussion, more people have watched FSU than Baylor. That will continue to be the case. More people may watch Texas/Baylor, but not enough to make up what they lost this past weekend. And I am not certain that FSU/Duke won't draw the bigger audience.

Sure Baylor/TCU went up against Bama/Auburn. FSU/UF went up against Michigan/tOSU, which is always a big draw.

There was no way Baylor was ever going to jump FSU. The thought that more people would be more interested in watching Baylor than FSU and therefore propel them past FSU was only a dream on your part.

Not sure why you are having trouble following the thread but the discussion was started WELL BEFORE Baylor/OKST and had to do with an UNDEFEATED BAYLOR jumping an undefeated FSU team that plays no one.

The thread is right here for your perusal.

And what I've said has taken place almost verbatim: Clemson did lose, Miami lost TWICE, FSU's schedule looks like baby poop. I even noted Bama and Baylor had such tough roads they could well lose. And both did.

Texas/OKST FAR outdrew the FSU game the same weekend.
The FSU/Florida game which was expected at the start of the year to be a ratings bonanza was soundly whipped in it's own time slot.
Texas/Baylor WILL outdraw the ACC CG and it would have blown past it had Baylor been undefeated.

It is ok though you are entitled to be wrong. The media generally was too.
A few are starting to catch on now however.
Just read an article yesterday saying anyone challenging OSU's schedule needs to look at FSU's.
FSU has won quality win: Over Clemson.
They've played a crap schedule though not all their own fault.
If they beat Duke soundly Duke may fall out of the top 25 again.
So at season's end they'd have all of 1 top 25 win.

That's a SOS deathknell.

But up against OSU it doesn't matter.
Both teams played a crap schedule.

That wouldn't have been the case versus Baylor who had OKST, OU, UT just in the final 4 games of the season. --compared to Syracuse, Idaho, Florida, Duke.

You can look back at this thread and see that when I chimed in this thread it was Nov 21st. There were only 3 games left for both teams. I conceded that the Okie St game would be watched by many, but there would not be much interest in the TCU and Texas games for Baylor. Not enough to overtake FSU, which for some reason you thought people would have no interest in watching. An undefeated Baylor was never going to leap frog Florida St. It just was never going to happen.
