Jack-Reacher;3604824 said:I disagree, There should not be a one loss team in the top 10. I would not have a problem with Bama climbing back in to the top 10, and I won't argue with their schedule being brutal in the SEC, but their are a lot of quality teams behind them. Bama should be sitting no higher than 11. Both LSU and Utah or Michigan State should be ahead S. Carolina and Bama right now.
Cythim;3611324 said:LSU almost lost to Tennessee and Florida, Utah has played absolutely no one and Michigan State has "big" wins against mighty Michigan and Notre Dame. Losing one game to their fourth ranked opponent on the season should not knock Bama out of the top 10.

Jack-Reacher;3611588 said:If almost was the criteria, then Bama should have dropped out of first when then played Arkansas. You can make the case against Utah, but Michigan State beat a ranked Michigan team. I think Bama belongs in the top echelon of college football, but you don't lose to a team ranked 18 spots below you and only drop 7 spots. Let them earn their way back into that top 10.
at least they are in the top 25 enough for you to laugh when they arent...unlike the team you root forBob Sacamano;3604832 said:No Texas in the top 25. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Loserhorns!

Cythim;3615906 said:Based on their resume. What did they do in the first place to get into the top 25? They had zero points in the preseason AP Poll, indicative of them sucking last year and doing nothing in the offseason to warrant even one voter to put them in the top 25. After a week 1 win against UConn (who is 3-3 with losses to Rutgers and Temple and wins against below average teams) they vault to 26th and 71 points. A week 2 win against Notre Dame (who is 3-3 with losses to Michigan State and Stanford and wins against average teams) and they vault again to 20th and 437 points. Their unimpressive win against UMass hurt them a touch but they kept marching up simply because other teams were losing.
They did nothing to prove they were worth a top 25 ranking. It was handed to them because they beat UConn and Notre Dame, who were both overhyped in the preseason.

If they had to play four Top 25 opponents in a row would they be able to win all four games?
If they had a huge rivalry against another great team would they be able to win it on the road?
How would they perform in a conference championship game against another Top 10 team?
Jack-Reacher;3619192 said:Valid questions.
Show me any team that plays 4 top 25 teams in a row outside of San Jose State. Even they didn't have them in a row.
Your other two questions are legitimate and the answer lies in watching the team play. I would submit that you haven't watched BSU outside of one or two games. There are not very many teams that are better prepared than BSU. This argument that BSU wins only because they have a long time to prepare is ridiculous. Coach Peterson is one of the elite coaches in college football. His teams are ready to play every week. The stats they put up they do in one half of play. That is pretty sick when you think about it. 500 yrds of offense in one half, against a crappy team no doubt, but that is a well prepared offense.
BSU could compete in any conference in the nation. I didn't say win, but they would be competitive.
Cythim;3619576 said:I've actually seen more Boise State games than most of the other top 10 teams (save for the Ducks because I live in Portland). I've watched parts of Ohio State and Alabama games but there is too much happening on Saturday to be able to catch it all. All I saw from Boise State is that they struggle to beat average teams from the AQ conferences.
The BCS should've done us all the favor of matching Boise State against Florida last year instead of TCU. Having them play against what was probably the second best team in the nation last year would've gone a long way in telling us how good Boise State really is.
