Came across below article this morning & thought it very interesting. Our biggest signing needs over next 1-2 years of course is Ware along with Hamlin & Canty, assuming Cowboys plan resigning both of the latter. But down the road there will be more coming up which Breer has listed. Some will be RFA after 08 season but many also still need to show that we should resign them. Overall we starting to look in pretty good shape--understanding that Ware's deal will be huge.

Terrell Owens' signing tonight was another major step toward the Cowboys securing their future. Owens was looking for a deal similar to the three-year, $27 million pact that Randy Moss signed in New England. He achieved that. He got three years added to the year he's got left, and about $27 million in new money. So he matches Moss there. And his $13 million in guarantees is awfully close to the $15 million guaranteed that the 31-year-old Patriot got.
With this done, here are the Cowboys' pending free agents over the next two years, with DeMarcus Ware being the biggest name, by a healthy margin, and with Ken Hamlin and Chris Canty left off the list, since neither of them are under contract.
Up after 2008
WR Miles Austin*
C/G Joe Berger
DE Stephen Bowen*
LB Kevin Burnett
OT Marc Colombo
TE Tony Curtis*
WR Sam Hurd*
NT Tank Johnson
CB Evan Oglesby*
C/G Cory Procter*
* RFA
SAGO1 comment: Don't see any locks to be resigned but several could be if they have very good season--particularly Burnett & Tank Johnson. Austin, Hurd, Curtis & Procter must sign more this year.
Up after 2009
OLB Greg Ellis
DE Jason Hatcher
CB Anthony Henry
QB Brad Johnson
OT Pat McQuistan
OLB Justin Rogers*
DE Marcus Spears
OLB DeMarcus Ware
S Pat Watkins
SAGO1 comment: At this point I think we probably would only resign Hatcher & McQuistan (assuming of course both produce big time) and Ware of course out of the 09 group. Ellis & Henry won't be resigned; same for Johnson & probably Spears. Doubt we resign Watkins unless he steps it up.
