It is difficult to displace ignorance when arrogance is in the way.

This FO can’t see their incompetence because they stubbornly refuse to believe they are the smartest guys in the room and are “hanging around the rim.”

Out of touch, tone deaf, and entrenched. Ladies and Gentlemen— I give you the Dallas Cowboys front office

Inbreeding is not a good way to run an organization.

This season kind of feels like a tipping point. It better be their time. If the bottom falls out, uh oh! I'm not sure what gives the brass so much confidence.
Because they know they can just scapegoat Mike at the end of the season and 90% of fans will buy it and have new enthusiasm next year.

But they definetly have the coaches dead cap money under control. Have to give credit where its due.

This team feels like the wheels are going to fall off at any moment. A difficult first half of the season has me preparing for a slow start but then it gets better. How this season ends is anyone's guess. But that's not going to stop me from being all-in as I am every season.

I thought this was interesting for those who think Dallas should have just signed Lamb last year.

“It’s hard to,” Stephen Jones says. “That’s the bottom line. It used to be people really wanted to go early. It’s hard to get someone to go because, let’s face it, if they wait, they’ll get their money. You can’t do them until after their third year anyway. Then they’re one year out. CeeDee played his year out last year. You say we could have done him. We couldn’t have. He was wanting to see what [Ja’Marr] Chase and Jefferson would do. He kept hearing these wild numbers. Turns out he’s probably right.

“We tried. We wanted to. It’s just getting him to do one. Some guys get in a situation where they want the money. We got [Trevon] Diggs done early. When we can get them, we’ll grab them.”

All good for CD unless he get's hurt. Sometimes the smart play is to take a discount & lock in the protection.

lmao. It’s not the cowboys time.
Not even close.

Wait until they play the Browns, Ravens, SF.

Those tough games could be ugly. Dallas got worse this offseason. By a good margin.

I get they need to keep the faith but talent is talent. And the Cowboys roster has been overvalued for years. Their playoff record proves as much.

This team has not amassed enough good karma to get lucky enough to fall into some post season victories.

Solid draft, lost free agents, haven't signed the QB or the WR, what is their to say hey we're going to win a Superbowl about. Hey this is our theme every year, and it's funny at times to see us not make it, just shut up and play

The first 7 weeks will be the litmus test of what this team is made of. They will either demonstrate they are for real or the wheels all come flying off. Real big boy defenses and running games in that stretch.
I thought it was the playoffs?

I do not know why anyone on this team would be more confident today than they were a year ago.
We are weaker up front on D and at DE and weaker re the running game and a true second WR.
The confidence level is always sky high in training camp. That is until we get to the regular season and get punched in the mouth.

Our time.

And yet, after a disasterous early playoff game, we let talent run off, didn't sign anyone of really any large value in FA and made no changes to the staff on our own - only having to replace the DC because he decided to leave.

They say this every year. It's our time. But their actions would suggest they are full of it (or they just have a ridiculously high opinion of their roster which wouldn't be surprising).
Exactly Jerry and Stephen tell us every year is our time so we can open up our wallets. The fans are over the same played out routine. They have done nothing to get better they will play as such.

LOL!!! They talk about urgency each and every year. There isn't one player on this team that actually thinks we are in a better place today. Unless they are talking about their contracts. The time is now to make that bank!!! Winning? Eh...whatever.
