Kid is unconscious right now!!!!!!!!

Never saw him as a 30 homer guy, but here he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I thought he could develop into a 30+ homer guy. I'm surprised it happened this quickly. His bat gets through the zone as quickly as anyone. He's got a great eye and discipline at the plate.

Dbacks kicking themselves over passing him up for Darby Swanson.

Interesting sidebar, a couple years ago many Stro fans were hopping mad Luhnow refused to include Breg in a trade for Sale. How's that looking right now?

The kids power is surprising.

If you asked me in 2016 who would have the better 2018 season: Altuve, Springer, Correa or Bregman... Guess who would have been 4th on the list? lol

On a side note definitely disappointed in Correa's offense... This yearly injury thing isn't helping. He has the potential to be a .300/40 HR guy but ain't doing it.

Where Breg is leaps and bounds better than Springer, Tuve and Correa is his eye for the strike zone and plate discipline. Tuve could hit 350 with 30 dingers every year with his swing, if he'd just learn the strike zone and lay off pitches outside the zone. Tuve has shown the ability to do that in the past.

Not sure Springer or Correa will ever have those skills. It's what keeps them from being great players.

I agree with that. If I had to keep one of those players (Bregman, Springer, Correa) I'd keep Bregman and let the other two walk.

Me personally I've always been big on the guys that had the good batting eye... Guys like Darrell Evans and Gene Tenace. I think it made them worth more than what non-sabermetrics thought about them.

It's another reason I'm big on Tyler White as opposed to Gattis/Gurial. His batting eye is so much better.

A good eye at the plate is something that can't be taught, but patience can mask a little. Quick hands through the zone is another trait that you have or don't. Still, quick hands don't help if you're swinging at bad pitches.

I'm with you. Tuve and Breg are my cornerstones for years to come. If Springer and Correa want superstar money, I let them walk after issuing a qualifying offer. I'd rather a comp pick than overpaying either.

I don't know sabermetrics from Adam, but I do know the value of guys who can work a count and find a way to 1B. That said, I'm not a fan of the strikeout being no worse than any other out belief.

No, I'm not on the "A strikeout is no worse than any other type of out" train either.

Yes, once in a while a worse type of out can occur– the double play. But in many cases it is worse because you lose your ability to advance a runner or reach base via an error. Not too mention it's damn boring seeing almost a 1/3 of all outs in a game being due to a K.

This.

He has a great eye, patience and a flawless swing.

You beat me to it!!!!!!

I can't say much about Altuve because he hits .330+ on a regular basis, but I agree, he could be even better.

Correa's plate discipline is just awful. Dude should be the best hitter on the team w/ his superior skills.

The only argument I have for keeping Springer is that his clubhouse presence might be the best in MLB.
