Guys, I think we need to give some serious thought to drafting a kicker. Alex Henery might be the guy.

He's a 5th year Sr. and he's one of the best kickers I've watched.

Henery is 66 of 74 or 89.2% career.

He's 24 of 31 or 77.4% from 40 or more career. That's better then the NCAA record of 72.1% by Billy Bennet.

He's 42-43 or 97.7% from inside the 40 career. The NCAA record is 97.0% also by Bennet.

He's had six career games with 4 or more field goals made, also an NCAA record.

He's 256-265 or 96.6% on PATs. The NCA record is 94.9 Jeff Wolfert.

He also punts. He averaged 43.86 Yards Per Punt.

These are really amazing statistics if you consider that he plays in the Big 12 North and his home field is in Nebraska at Memorial Stadium.

How many games have we lost in the kicking game this year? He could also be the back up punter. Keep Buehler as the kick off specialist. I mean, he's also another guy on the kick off coverage team but lets fix the kicking game.

He's 24 of 31 seems pretty mediocre from 40-50.

Are you sure the record is 72%?

24 of 31 kicking outdoors in Nebraska is not too bad at all IMO and it's not 40 to 50. It's 40 and out so who knows if it's 50 or 60? Yeah, I think for D1 it is 72% but I could be wrong. If I am, I'm certain that somebody will correct me.

I just glanced at his game logs and I added it up quickly but it looks like he's 63/65 from kicks 49 yards and in! That's what we need

I'll be Mr. Overreaction and say draft him in the 4th if we have to. This guy is money and could have a long career a la Vinateri, Morten/Gary Anderson, etc.

Good leg but above all accurate. He can handle the kickoffs.

Hey Avery, how have you been?

Heck, I don't even mind if we just focus Buehler on kick offs again. I mean, he's like another coverage guy on the kick coverage team. If he parks them in the endzone with regularity again, I'm OK with that. I like the guy. I like that he's willing to mix it up when he has to. I like that we have a guy who can kick it 60 yards on a FG attempt if we need it. He may not be the most accurate guy in the world but there is something to be said for somebody who can make 65 yard FGs. I like the guy. He's just not so accurate and we gotta have that.

My problem with Buehler has been his kickoffs. I see Billy Cundiff booting touchbacks and can't figure out why he's struggled so much (lingering injury or not).

If we have the roster spot great, but I can't take much more of this Jekyll and Hyde act.

He's more accurate in his first season than Vinateiri was his first season.. and he's showing consistent improvement. No reason to think he won't keep improving on his accuracy.

Buehler is 4th in the league in TB's, trailing Akers by one. An off year for him, but Cundiff is on another level this season. 50 percent of his kickoffs have gone for touchbacks. That's just insane. No one else is even close to that.

one of husker fans... losing him will affect us big time like losing suh...

every time he line up to kick.. i know that he will make it.
he also make 3 for 3 again 30 mph wind from 35-40 vs ISU

I am a Nebraska fan (full disclosure). But you draft this kid and you never have to worry about the kicker again for the next 10 years. He missed ONE FG this year. It was from 53 yards and it was blocked! I've seen this kid make a 57 yard FG to force overtime on a cold November day. The last FG I saw him make would have been good from 65. The only thing he has not done is kickoffs, since Nebraska had another kid who put over 50% of his kickoffs in the back of the end zone. You can literally walk away from your TV when he is kicking from 50 and in and KNOW that the there will be an extra 3 points on your TV screen when you return. He is the most accurate NCAA kicker EVER!

Take this guy in the 3rd round and we will forever forget Jason Williams.
